ps , i too think lost is one of the best programs on tv at the moment and seeing as the uk as only just got lost and how channel 4 and e4 seem to cut the episode to pieces i managed to get the whole season 1 box set on dvd from the usa which is just awesome . cant wait to see season 2 now

Is there any connection between the character John Locke and the REAL John Locke? Does anyone know?

I love LOST, the series 1 finale was just show on RTE on monday.

I think they were talking about John Locke, the philosopher. He inspired many of Thomas Jefferson's ideas in the Declaration of Independence.

 

And going back to the first poster, I don't think there's a HUGE connection between the Locke of the show and the Locke of real life. However, one of the episodes in Season 1 was titled "Tabula Rasa," which is one of Locke's (the real one!) ideas. Tabula Rasa is the state of mind before it recieves impressions from experience.

 

Definitely something interesting to think about!

 

And last night episode was amazing...I wish I could talk about it more, but I don't want to spoil anything for our overseas friends. :) Although, I must say, next week's looks even better!

And I do think it's interesting to think about it once you start going on ideas and such...

I'm re-watching all of the episodes, so far I got to the third disc of the DVD.

 

I noticed something too that Abrams uses is the black and white.

There were the black and white rocks that were found with those two dead corpses - Adam and Eve they named them; when Claire has those dreams and she sees Locke who is looking at these cards, one eye is white the other is black! And there was also one more thing too...and then there's the backgammon game pieces! Black and white.

 

Wonder what's with that? :D

Yes Ian i agree thats why i sent off for the us box set ( 7 dvds ) well worth getting as what you see on c4 or e4 is cut to pieces plus all the poxy adverts every 10 minutes - Arghhhh

also i read when the season 1 dvd box set comes out here it will only be on 4 discs meaning you have to buy a second box set to complete the whole first season !! which i think is a right con the us box set is the whole season 1 plus a bonus dvd with the making / bloopers and stuff and the price is around £25 - check out ebay for some great deals on the us import dvd box set thats where i got mine .
