And even if, there's nothing able to stop me from seeing them. :P They were on Later with Jools Holland this week. They played songs from the new album as I read but I only found a recodring of Papillon. Gorgeous anyways. September 29, 200916 yr The songs are up on Youtube as well, in case anyone only wants to listen to them and not download them. I won't (I didn't manage to download them anyway) for I want to wait for the album to be released. I'll listen to the songs on Youtube but won't put them on my MP3-Player. Don't know, yes, this sounds stupid, but I like it that way better. :D [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwNYkCW_1ks]YouTube - Editors - In This Light and on This Evening [ new cd Editors HD][/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO3nn-Ng0h4&feature=related]YouTube - Editors 02 Bricks And Mortar (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfHx4ufnBoI]YouTube - Editors 03 Papillon (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biBNuNU_lDY]YouTube - Editors 04 You Don't Know Love (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6JL3yVs0JI&feature=related]YouTube - Editors 05 The Big Exit (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abyr3XzJncQ&feature=related]YouTube - Editors 06 The Boxer (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kCy7U00k_o&feature=related]YouTube - Editors 07 Like Treasure (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1J-ZB_L69HI&feature=related]YouTube - Editors 08 Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-KQUcYcptk&feature=related]YouTube - Editors 09 Walk The Fleet Road (In This Light and On This Evening 2009)[/ame]
September 30, 200916 yr So, I just listened to all the songs.....and I hate to say that I really dislike this album. The lack of piercing guitars is definitely disappointing. I own their last two albums and have seen them in concert, but I don't think I'll be buying this one. The first word that comes to mind is sadly, "boring." I just can't get into any of these songs. If I had to compare this shift in style to anything it would be to Smashing Pumpkins "Adore", where they wrote mostly slower and electronic songs. I prefer Adore over this though. Maybe the most disappointing album of the year for me. Sorry guys.

Maybe the most disappointing album of the year for me. Sorry guys. Don't really love the album until now as well. I exspected it way better, don't know why. Maybe because my two favourite bands put out great albums last year so I thought Editors will do the same. From the first listen I can say I don't think it's a bad album but the change in style didn't really work out for them. But I'll wait for my physical copy and the gig I go to in November. Maybe I'll change my mind then.
September 30, 200916 yr I'd only listened to the build-up bit of the title track before giving the album a full listen, so when the song EXPLODED out of nowhere... oh, fuck, that was something special. I was LITERALLY like  Absolutely fucking incredible opener. ITLAOTE has the best album opener and closer so far. Walk The Fleet Road is... oh, I can't even think of how to describe it! This blows An End Has A Start out of the water. It has floored me. It's every bit as good as The Back Room, IMO. There's not a single track here I don't absolutely love. It's not better than the debut just yet, though I'm finding it hard to compare the two as Editors sound like a completely different band now. Can't wait to review this! Well done guys.
September 30, 200916 yr first of all, Tom said that this record will draw some fans away, and I guess you are victims. this album to me is flawless, definitely up for album of the year for me. They said they were scrapping guitars, and I don't really miss them. The electronic aspects of this record are astounding and every track brings something completely different. It is not like TSP Adore and it is more Depeche Mode-y In my mind, the only dud is The Boxer, which moves rigorously slow. If you don't like the title track, you won't like the CD. It is a COMPLETE change and is darker than ever. Bricks And Mortar is a pulsing song and is my favorite so far, apart from Like Treasure which has those faded background vocals that gives me shivers. Walk the Fleet Road is the most 'original' Editors song on there, and it is simply amazing. This album will be hated on because it's a complete turn around, just like U2's Zooropa and Pop. and when you think about it, those albums are great as well. Just because it is not the same guitar driven album does not mean it is bad. I would not be happy with another album like their previous two. This direction is amazing and I hope they keep it up, i can't wait for Cuttings 2 with the extra songs. I couldn't stand another album and it would get boring, this change in direction is only just a start for Editors and they will only get darker and darker as time goes on. Clockpolitiks you have to look at this album not expecting guitars they did warn us and their videos of these songs were on youtube for a long time. I feel AEHAS was more slower than this record, like most sophomore albums. It is a great record, that's all I'm saying EDIT: Bernard, thank you for supporting me. It sounds like them, but it doesn't. Can't wait until they come here. Love this album so much. I've listened to it at least 8 times

It'll take some time to get into, but it might turn out to be a mindblowing album in the end.
