You think it's stupid that you have to go to prison if you killed somebody that was trying to kill you. How will you prove that this person tried to kill you if there is no witness. Don't you think this law will be abused for shooting at people or even killing them without any reason?

It's the possibility, that everybody in the USA can get a gun easily... I'm glad, that we don't have these problems here, 'cause it's hard to get a gun here.

because my city has a very high crime rate, i live in a nice neiborhood but my house has been almost robbed a few times. we've had people shot in our nice neiborhood before because criminals wonder in to rob the nice houses. i doubt ill ever get a gun pulled on me, but i need the right if it is to protect myself.

its not about guns, not at all its about teh criminals. IF YOU take away every damn gun in a the world people will kill each other with anything else. the guy who gets murderd wont be shot, he'll be stabbed or beaten to death instead. it has nothing to do with weapon.

it causes no danger. the danger is already their, its not going to cause anyone to commit a crime. because people who are willing to kill or use a gun already dont care about laws. if im a killer im going to kill if its against the law or not. it boils down to letting us protect ourselves against people who kill.

 

last time a guy was trying to break into my house i grabbed my baseball bat adn called 911, luckily he never got in before the cops showed, but if he did, i doubt my bat would have done much against his gun, thats why next time ill have a ar 15 waiting for him. i doubt that it;ll ever happen again, but its better ot be safe then sorry.

explain more? the person is just attacking or robbing? i take it thats what you mean, like someone raping or just robbing someone. then oh well. i mean if the guy had no intention on killing me just raping me, and i were to shoot him, thats that. he would get whats coming to him. the fact remains teh same this law allows us to protect ourselves. a person robs anotehr person and gets killed for it, then he got whats coming to him.

 

and what are the people sapposed to do, ask the person "kind sir are you trying to kill me or justt rob me?" crying out loud, it doesnt work that way, they have to protect themselves even if the person intention is not to kill someone. Sure you're right that the gun itself doesn't kill anybody. And if someone really wants to kill someone, he'll probably do it without a gun as well.

 

But with a gun you can kill somebody a lot faster and the chance is smaller that this person is able to react or that other people notice what you doing.

It doesn't have to be that the other person intends to rape you or to rob you or whatever. Don't you think there are a lot of people that misjudge the situation? There are people who are very scared without anything happening. There are people who feel threatend by everyone they don't know.

 

For example if there's anyone walking around near your house he could want to rob you or even kill you, so it might be better to react before he does? But maybe he doesn''t intend anything at all...

 

Or people that abuse this law to justify a murder? If the person's killed and there is know witness, how wil be prooved that the killer wasn't threatend?
