February 12, 200422 yr i liked the smashing pumpkins like 2 years ago... but i haven't listened to their music since thier breakup... My favorite song is Disarm and my fav. album is probably Mellon Collie and hte Infinite Sadness :)
February 12, 200422 yr Tonight, Tonight is my favourite song of theirs Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness is my favourite album
February 12, 200422 yr Re: smashing pumpkins anyone...? does anyone like smashing pumpkins? Why yes, in fact, I do. I also liked James Iha's solo album and Zwan. if you do, could you tell me whats there best song and/or CD? I would say, if you're just getting started with the Pumpkins you'd want to get Siamese Dream. It's their most "solid" album. The songs there are the most accessible. If you ever get deep into the Pumpkins you may prefer either their first album, Gish, or their double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. In my experience, fans tend to divide at their preference for raw sound or ambitious songs. im trying to learn some of their songs for my guitar....ive already got Bullet with Butterfly Wings Goot start. Very nice! I would recommend Cherub Rock, too.
February 12, 200422 yr I also like the Pumpkins although I can't decide what's my fave album. I love 'Adore', a very underrated album. It's soft and beautiful. 'Thirty three' is a great song!!
February 12, 200422 yr Strangely enough, "Adore" is really the only Pumpkins album I still listen to. Strange because it's the one I liked the least when I first got it, but not really that strange because I've just been really bored by most straight forward guitar-based rock music for awhile now. Back when I was really into them, my favorite was Siamese Dream. To me, Mellon Collie had the same problem that almost every double album in history has had: too inconsistent, and some unnecessary filler.
February 12, 200422 yr I agree with you, Tom. And at the beginning I wasn't a big fan of 'Adore' but it's an album that grows in you step by step...
