oh go on then :smug:

I like some of their songs... :) Avadore (dunno if I spelled right) is one of my faves..

Hey does anybody here like MACHINA The Machines Of God? hahaha

probably not...

Some of the Smashing Pumpkins best songs come off that album, Stand Inside Your Love, I Of The Mourning, anddddd that's about it.

My fav album is Mellon Collie....

my favorite song is either Where Boys Fear To Tread, or Here Is No Why

Also, one of the most amazing Pumpkins songs is The Aeroplane Flies High. I think it's their grungiest song ever.

yeah, machina is great! everlasting gaze, try try try and heavy metal machine are my favourites

but all in all i think siamese dream is the best album.

@ yorkeisagod: try playing silverfuck

Yea, Siamese Dream is pretty good.

Hummer and Rocket are my favorite songs.

oh man... i'm going to try not to say anything bad about machina...

it's too hard.

machina redefined the term "overblown crap." :P

a lot of it was bad.

The Crying Tree Of Mercury

The Imploding Voice

Blue Skies Bring Tears

awful songs!

glass and the ghost children, complete with mid-song sampled egotistical rant by billy corgan. :P

i do really like "stand inside your love" though.

yea. Stand Inside Your Love has got to be one of the best Pumpkins songs ever.

Recently I've been on a smashing pumpkins buzz! I sorted out my c.ds and have just been listening to siamese dream and adore non-stop. I'm in love with To Sheila

Well as none of you may know they happen to be my favourite band of all time. No seriously.

Their best album is (Obviously, in my opinion) Mellon Collie, not just because it was a huge 8 million selling double album (A world record for a double album) but the more you listen to it the more insane it gets. The amount of creativity running through their heads in the 2 months it took to make Mellon Collie is comparable with The Beatles finest work.

My favourite song? Christ, I have no idea. Ill name my top 3 off each album, because I love them that much.

Gish

1. Rhinocerus

2. Siva

3. Im stuck between 5 songs on this

Siamese Dream

1. Disarm

2. Cherub Rock

3. Spaceboy

Mellon Collie

1st CD:

1. Galapogos

2. Tonight Tonight

3. Muzzle

2nd CD:

1. Thru the Eyes of Ruby

2. Thirty Three

3. Bodies

Christ that was such a wicked album.

Adore:

1. Ava Adore

2. Perfect

3. Infedomine

Machina:

1. Stand Inside Your Love

2. Try Try Try

3. Raindrops and Sunshowers

My favourite Smashing Pumpking songs on the guitar are, Cherub Rock acoustic, Stumbleine, Disarm, Jellybelly, Zero (Though its fucking hard).

Now, I do suggest getting Mellon Collie's tab book, if you really want an insight into how wonderful Corgan and Iha are on guitar, they are superb musicians and Jimmy Chamberlin backs them up superbly (And D'arcy, uh, looks pretty). Corgan plays incredibly clean effortlessly, I'd have a gigantic ego if I was him too.

yesterday i've made myself a mix-cd with all the "quiet" songs, called "Silent Poetry"...

they have such wonderful songs which are not very well-known, like take me down, landslide, farewell and goodnight,...

and with every light from vh1 storytellers blows my mind away

well i must say i like them... :P

yea Mellon Colie was an amazing cd. One time on the way back from the cottage I listened to the entire thing all the way through, all the songs are amazing and very different from each other. It's got to be one of the most creative albums ever.

In The Arms Of Sleep has very simple but effective lyrics, I love that song.

The last couple songs off each CD need to have a lot of attention paid on them, they are very good but you need to really listen to and identify them. They arent just album fillers as some people think.

My SP song of all time is (After much consideration) Thru the Eyes of Ruby.

What a fantastic song.

I didn't like the last few songs on Mellon Collie at first, but after awhile I got to like them, Farewell and Goodnight is like a lullaby.

I like 1979, Zero, Tonigh Tonigh... don't know a lol about the band.

  • 6 months later...

*sniffle*

i miss them

who wouldn't be the one you love?

they have a song called Real Love, and i like that song...plus, Cupid De Lock (i think it's called, i really like that too. & Cash Car Star.

The Machina II & 3 E.p's thing, i love

generally speaking

if you can get used to his voice

pumpkins are amazing

HEY!

I'm trying to remember this song. It was from their box set and only D'arcy and James were singing. Does anyone know the name?

Oh, and it's funny you should mention SP. I was just listening to their greatest hits album and it reminded me of how much i love their music.
