its just going to be very inconvenient to do much later in the year.

Last night, our steel band had a concert, and they played A-ha's "Take On Me" using steel drums. It was sooo fun and awesome. :D

A-ha's just performed their new single "Foot Of The Mountain" as a world premiere on the final show of "Germany's Next Topmodel" live from the Lanxess Arena, Cologne. :)

a-ha at "expo 86" was my very first concert!!!

I can't believe there's an a-ha thread. I've listened to their greatest hits cd a bunch of times recently, I do have to say there's only a handful of great songs on it. I do love this band though, the lead singer's voice is amazing and some of the songs are beautiful.

 

I can't listen to "Crying in the Rain" without lol because of the Flight of the Conchords song "I'm Not Crying." See for yourselves.

The only other Norwegian band I know is Rokysopp and I met them in Toronto a few years ago, very nice guys.

it´s so great!!! I didn´t know well A-ha before, but now....I love them:D And the new album playes at my home over and over... the best...foot of the mountain...my Nr. 1!

As for FOTM album - strong, catchy melodies, but I miss that beautiful nordic melancholy which is specific to them... that's why I like Analogue much better...

I read that a lot of Paul's inspiration for the songwriting came from the contrast between Norway and America, where he lives now. I guess their cultural influences have changed slightly.. but some of the songs still have that Scandinavian wistfulness about them. But then I haven't heard analogue so I can't compare...:\

Haven't you? Oh my, how could you? :D One of their best albums for my part... a lot of fans don't like it, I don't know why. Maybe because it sounds rockier than the others, it's not "typic" a-ha... they used more guitars and almost no synths. Most of the songs were written by Magne.
