I've listened to their greatest hits cd a bunch of times recently, I do have to say there's only a handful of great songs on it. I do love this band though, the lead singer's voice is amazing and some of the songs are beautiful. I can't listen to "Crying in the Rain" without lol because of the Flight of the Conchords song "I'm Not Crying." See for yourselves. As for FOTM album - strong, catchy melodies, but I miss that beautiful nordic melancholy which is specific to them... that's why I like Analogue much better... I read that a lot of Paul's inspiration for the songwriting came from the contrast between Norway and America, where he lives now. I guess their cultural influences have changed slightly.. but some of the songs still have that Scandinavian wistfulness about them. Oh my, how could you? :D One of their best albums for my part... a lot of fans don't like it, I don't know why. Maybe because it sounds rockier than the others, it's not "typic" a-ha... they used more guitars and almost no synths. Most of the songs were written by Magne.
