Cool Coldplay item of the day- 4/6

 

The X & Y Global Communication Strategy advance promo. If you're like me and you surf the web looking for rare Coldplay CDs you have probably seen this CD selling for anywhere from $100.00 USD to $200.00 USD. When I first saw this CD I thought wow there must be some really cool rare music on this one. I found out there isn't any music at all. A Coldplay CD without music?? So I picked one up anyway.

This CD contains a PowerPoint presentation that Parlophone put together about the release of X & Y. It's actually pretty cool. Within the presentation there are unseen pictures and information about the band. They cover what areas they were to release the album first. What types of people buy Coldplay music. You can tell the release of X & Y was an important one with this CD and "The Fir Trees Album" pre release.

Needless to say there aren't many of these CDs floating around. Because of its rareness and what it contains is why it sells at such a high price. Plus the fact that this CD was never intended to fall into our hands. I think it's cool.

No1CPfan, do u have the Safety EP? or do u know where i can find it?

I know a guy in the UK right now he has one in NM condition but he wants $950 GBP or $1,600 US. I don't right at the moment but if I do mine will be cheaper than that. $1,600 is way too much. The last one in that condition on eBay.UK sold for $700 GBP or $1,000 USD.

 

A friend of mine in California got a copy from Jonny's cousin off of eBay (signed by jonny/will) it was in ok condition. It skipped and the inlay was rough but he got it for $700 USD.

 

I won't buy one unless I can find it in NM condition for around $800. The prices are going down due to the release of the new album. Everyone is saving $ for the new singles and promos yet to show up on eBay. So not too many people are bidding on the old stuff right now. A copy of Mince Spies just sold for $260 USD Plus it included the fanzine it came with.

 

Another good time to bid on Coldplay items I've found is right before Christmas. Everyone is spending money on Christmas gifts and not on their Coldplay collection. At the same time people are selling off good stuff so they can put together money for Christmas.

This is the "Trouble" Australia 4-track single. This CD is very hard to find. The track listing is:
