Someday you could have a collection bigger than mine. I saved money for years first before I could build this collection. Save, save, save!

There ya go. You should start off slow. Get all of the regular albums on CD and LP first (easiest and cheapest). Then get the regular singles for each album. Then start to back fill your collection with promos and rare releases. Once you have all the CDs and LPs you want get some cool concert/promo posters to hang up next to your CD & LP collection. After that move on to some merch. and memorabilia. before you know it you'll be an addict like me with 353 Coldplay items!! :wink3:

In the meantime, I opened a photobucket account, to see if I can use it as an avenue to share very few of the pictures I took. Too much in the Collection, But too little to almost no time at all to take pictures of them. They are all carefully stored. One day, Everything will be posted in it's entire glory. Hi there! The Safety EPs are indeed a highlight of my collection... Same it goes with the "What If" promo in a card sleeve, Don't Panic 12" LP and Viva La Vida 12" Promo LP. Usually, they are owned by different individuals.

It's my pleasure sharing the pictures with everyone.

As far as the items per the GS era is concerned, I won them all in ebay. I just try to get them as soon as it's available. That way, I don't have to worry about chasing them anymore.

One Safety Ep was from Jonny's cousin herself...! That's what makes that specific EP cooler than ice...!

We as Coldplayers get to enjoy all of our Collections togather... Somehow, by our hobby of collecting, we are keeping all the items well archived. One may own this, and the other - another one... But bottomline, our Coldplayer Community gets to enjoy the thought that all those items still exists and is kept in excellent condition... All of our collections combined make up amazing pieces of history... Maybe One day, Coldplay will thank us for preserving all of this... Who knows...? If not, Pride is still there owning all of this.

So, I guess somehow this forum can also serve as an avenue for us to say... "Hey! This item still exists! Here's a proof...!". Well, just another way to look at it. Not trying to redesign the purpose of it.

Btw... It's amazing to see how many of us have Politik as our favorite song! All the transitions and the emotion exuding from it... Exemplary...

My friend, you will need a box... A BIG one... Once you start, you just keep going. Collecting has this addicting drive... It's a phenomena.

Actually, the other cd skips around 3 secs in track 1... But if played in a sportsman, and also when ripped via computer, it's beyond immaculate.

It doesn't take away from it's greatness at all...

Here is what I suggest for CD storage. I have 4 of these. They are "Zip-Lock" brand storage tubs. They have a water resistant lid with a foam ring that seals when you close it. I have 2 for CDs, one for LPs and one for Memorabilia. I have 3 large poster tubes and I have one framed item that sits out by itself.

 

By the way I have 268 CDs in the 2 containers. They will hold aprox. 150 depending on how you arrange them. I have 2 trays in each one to keep them in line. That reduces the amount they will hold by a little.

Got 2 new CDs in today...

 

I have the second version of "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" ep from Taiwan. On the left is the first version in a slim line case. On the Right is the second version in a standard jewel case with the hologram sticker and "EMI" logo. Both are official Coldplay releases.

 

 

The second CD for today is the Live 2003 promo CD "CPLIVE 2003" with a promo sticker. I have seen a few copies of CPLIVE 2003 floating around but this is the first with a promo sticker. I love collecting CDs with promo stickers. Lets say they release 1,000 CPLIVE 2003 promos. Even less will contain a promo sticker making them rare and fun to collect.

No offence but I wouldn't say "lucky". They do pop up on eBay every once in a while. All you have to do is save your $ and be the highest bidder. It's not like he found his copies in a Willy Wonka, Scrumdidlyumptious bar. It is a safety ep.... not a golden ticket.
