Maybe these ppl exist,but what about me,I visit Albums and B-sides,and I dont say ppl shouldnt discuss what they wanna discuss,if you like Coldplay cause they are hot,do it,I just wish ppl discussed more music of them.Its just my wish.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that no matter how nerdy or geeky one might look (not that Coldplay is!), if you like the music and can relate to it, you'll think the person/people making it are hot and beautiful for making it. Not that the people have a mania.

I kind of have to agree with the guys here, even if Reilly is just trying to be the silly pest he is. The general level of intelligence on display in this particular section of the forum has taken a nosedive lately, and I’m not talking about compared to the good old days; I wasn’t around then. I’m talking about within the last 2 or 3 months. I just recently had to stop really even checking this section it’s gotten so bad, which is really annoying because this is where I’ve traditionally spent most of my time.

 

Slash and obsessive fan girls go with the territory, I can live with that, but there are limits. Anything that inspires fandom will often be judged by their die-hard fans, and we’re really not making a very good impression at the moment.

 

I spent most of high school not really liking any music because all I heard when I turned on the radio was Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Nsync, Spice Girls, ect, and I couldn’t stand going to a friend’s house and seeing their room completely plastered with Justin Timberlake. Then I heard Coldplay. They were totally different. For one thing, they were really respected as artists. For another, they didn’t have their faces plastered all over the cover of their albums saying “Buy me! I’m cute!” The music could stand on it’s own. Yeah, they’re good looking, but that really doesn’t matter with them.

 

What a difference a couple of years and an album makes… there really seems to be people who treat them as the new Backstreet Boys or something. Maybe its because when pop music shifted to embrace them, it brought a more teeny-bopperish crowd with it, but I don’t have to like that. I hate talking to music geeks at school who are like “I used to like Coldplay, but now they’re just a pop band”, and it’s something that’s happening more and more. I have no problem with being a fangirl groupie, because I am one, but there are those here who are starting to make it embarrassing, and standing up for my favorite band’s artistic integrity gets tough when the other fans who ought to be backing me up on this are more interested in who has the best tongue. (ew!)

 

Come on ladies, pull yourselves together. Show a bit of dignity for the boy’s sake. People like to accuse men of thinking with their balls, but if some of what I’ve seen in here is anything to go by, the women don’t seem to be any better. There was a time when perverted was an insult, not a compliment. I’m not pointing any fingers, I’m just saying it’s possible to talk about more in here than Guy’s ass, even if music talk does belong in the album forum.

 

We can’t change culture at large, but we can choose how we represent the band on the net. People outside of the regular group who post here do notice, I assure you.

So ok....I read the first 7 pages of this thread now.....

And I dare say that reilly is mostly right (I mean with the intention of the thread....)...

To be honest......I wanted to create a thread like this one some days ago aswell (I don#t say that now because I wnt to defend Reilly or something like that).....

but the last weeks whenever I visited this section...I only saw threads like.....best butt....best teeth....best fingers.....and i thought damn....I thought this is a Coldplay section....

and not (Cold)playboy or something like that.......when I'm interested in Coldplay then in the music....and not many other things.....surely when I came here at the beginning I really liked threads like "piccies of the sexy mr berryman"........I'm a girl and he is hot.....but that's it......but what people do here now is just exaggeration of all those things......and for me all those threads end in chat threads and nothing else.....

And when you talk about msn.......I think this forum is different from msn......I visit mostly the lounge because I'm also NOT interested in 100 Guy's butt threads.....and how can you make a discussion on msn.....with many people etc....hee?Impossible I would say.......

 

And i think I knew that reilly didn't like Coldplay anymore.......I had some good discussion in the lounge about Coldplay,Radiohead.....and influences.....he didn't say anything bad about them....it was just an objective,interesting discussion.....

When I think about others who come here and don't like Coldplay.....how offensive are they?

And....obviously you here in the Coldplay section got rid of good,interesting Coldplay topics to talk about....but you won't stay off.....so you create those "superficial" topics to have something o talk about until there are any Coldplay news.......

 

But ok....this is just my opinion and shows just facts why I don#t like this section anymore!

But see... right now there are more than plenty of threads with Coldplay articles, or articles that mention Coldplay, and I don't see any of the people complaining posting in them.

That's cos even our admins got tired of the lame threads on this section on the board and we're trying to do something about it. Maybe we should move out all the coldplay pic threads and body part threads or anything related to the cfu section of the board so we can let this section clear for info, proper discution or anything realated to that. Might be a solution

And I think we all know how hot they are because of your sigs....so no need for threads anymore!:idea2:

maybe Ian should delete all our threads and posts and ban us from the board, then you could all be happier.
