I see' date=' so Ian doesn't want us on here. Hey all he had to do was ask me to leave.[/quote']

That's not what he's saying at all. I can't speak for him, but this is my interpretation of what he's said.

Ian has to ensure that the board runs smoothly and caters for everybody. For it to continue to be successful (and therefore worth the money, time & effort he & Stephen put in), we need to keep attracting new & diverse members.

As a Coldplay messageboard, one of the first places that people are likley to come to is the Coldplay section. If all you can see on the first page is hot bum this, sexy legs that, then alot of people are going to be put off. There's someone further up the discussion who's said that they assume most people on this board are female. A natural reaction when faced with a page of thread titles like the ones we've been saying recently.

He doesn't want to lose members. All he's asking for is more of a balance, he doesn't mind you having threads about how hot the guys are, but there also should be more of the Coldplay news & snippets of info type stuff.

That's true,I have noticed over the last few months there are way to many of those kind of threads!!!!!

This is gonna be a complete waste of time but anyway.. I've read through the whole thread and I just wanna say a few things..

Firstly, I find it rather unrespectful by the people who bring up the Best tongue-thread etc. that they don't mention my name.. I did start that, I know that and so do you. So instead of you talking about me when I'm not here and calling me for someone is at least in my mind extremly unrespectful. My name is Therese and the next time you wanna talk about me please say my name okay?

Secondly, I can understand the fact that people get a bit fed up by my and other people comments but I just wanna say that every post I have posted haven't been 'Fuck me!', although that kind is most likely a majority. But what do you want me to say?! 'Yeah, I really love the way Will drums so good in that pic?' The boys are sexy so why can't I say that? But hey I'll sneak in a 'Guy really has a great bassline in that song' sometime just to make you happy..

Thirdly.. about the 'I had sex with Guy Berryman'-thread. The first one was created by Carla's (KITTYBERRYMAN) friend to piss some people of. And when it didn't and the mods didn't close it me and some others just used it as an excause to flip out, so when we thought the other board was permanent we did a new one.. And if people don't understand the humor or irony about all thread like that then I am sorry. And I'm sorry if I offend anyone with my posts..

Number four, I will never never never never never make myself proove that I love Coldplay. Not for anybody. NEVER!

And btw, if somebody thinks I overstep the line then please write it in that thread or PM me and I will try to behave okay.. and there is really no need for anyone to respond to this cause I'm never gonna read this thread again but I just wanted to say something.. and that was it.

You know what... as someone who takes a look at "those types" of threads, but rarely post in them.. I'll just say this. I specifically remember you (the lovely Therese, along with someone else) asking for that thread to be closed, and a mod (doesn't matter who because I don't remember anyway :laugh3:) said that they'll dedice what needs to be closed and in essence, said that they'll appreciate it if in the future we didn't tell them what to do. I didn't think Therese or anyone else was telling any mod what to do, it was asking. But there you have it. It was asked to be closed and no one felt like it needed to be.

As a result it appeared again in the new board. So what's the difference then? If it wasn't offensive in one board, why was it in the other? It should've been closed the first time. It wouldn't have came up in the the new board had it been.

Basically what trying to say is that mods should...moderate. I'm not saying that mods don't do their part, you all do such a wonderful job..especially over there in the multimedia section. But there's certain threads you know.. threads that insult the guys' wives in excess. Threads like the 'I had sex with guy' that was found out to be a forum member under a new name. If mods do their part and set a standard, I'm sure us forum members will keep it.

And uhm.. my 2384903 cents! :laugh3:

Returning to the topic,I'm agree with Reilly, cause its stupid to love band for their appearance-Colpdlay make music, which I love, and I can talk about all their songs for hours. But when I see all these sexy hands-sexy back-sexy legs stuff,it makes me feel alone with mu true music luff.

I wonder how it would be if coldplay members looked like the guys from the darkness

^ooooo even sexier...lots of tight catsuit threads

i've read most of this thread and i have to say i sorta agree with most of the comments. its true that coldplaying is a fan website, and the reason we love coldplay so much is for music. i know it gets outta hand sometimes, and it should be toned down a bit, but that isnt a license to say that we dont love their music.:x  Im pretty sure, that all of us, are madly in love with their music, their message, and mostly their sound. Coldplay is the best band out there and we know it. but as crazed fans and mostly girls, we dont deny their physical attibutes, and please i would really like it, if these comments(if they were started that way) if they were indeed directed to someone, be directed to them.

it takes a whole lot of courage to say something to someone directly instead of just saying it subliminally. this is just my thought.

Are you sure they know who started the thread? I know I for one don't pay any attention to who's started a thread, I decide which threads I'm interested by the thread titles.

It wasn't closed because there was no need to close the thread. It turned out to be a joke and was left open, if people wanted the subject to drop then its upto the posters not to post on it. If someone had been insisting it was true, then it would have been slander/libel and we would have had to remove it.

You know what... as someone who takes a look at "those types" of threads' date=' but rarely post in them.. I'll just say this. There was no reason for the thread to be closed, it wasn't spam, it wasn't illegal, and it wasn't posted more than once. And no, the mods don't need telling how to do their jobs, what they do require is assistance. The best way to do this is if there is a post which you find insulting, or think its illegal, or against board rules, then hit the "report post" button. Its what its there for. The first mod to read the post report will decide what action to take, if any.

As a result it appeared again in the new board. So what's the difference then? If it wasn't offensive in one board, why was it in the other? It should've been closed the first time. It wouldn't have came up in the the new board had it been.

Has someone said that particular thread was offensive? I don't remember seeing that. I have mentioned somewhere else in the thread that viewed in a different context some of the threads could be construed as sexual harrassment.

As far as i'm aware, the discussion in this thread is about the quantity of threads discussing bums, legs, etc. No-one is saying you can't discuss the various parts of their anatomy but what they are asking you to do is think about the impression you're giving out to new members, and even Coldplay themselves. If you want to talk about Guy/Chris/Will/Johnny's eyes til the cows come home, then do so, but do we really need separate threads for each individual part of their anatomy, and then that multiplied by 4 because each band member needs their own thread? Surely having one Guy/Will/Chris/Johnny thread where you can drool over that band member to your hearts content is plenty?

Dont be so god damn lame, I knew you'd try and spin it round on me like that.

All he told me was that the threads are lacking interest, I should help the forum discuss more like I try to do in the lounge.

I haven't posted here in the Coldplay section in awhile. At one point it was the ONLY place I visited.

I just stop visiting here now. I can't handle it. I'm a woman with hormones, and yeah. I feel for the members, I can appreciate that. I think that if I felt the need to post a  smiley or something, then I would. The guys do it in the Lounge with their Hot Girls thread. There shouldn't be any harm there.

But it's gotten out of hand. And it's pushed me away from here. I think that the problem is that there are TOO MANY PAGES. The Guy thread is what, 2000 now? I don't know I haven't looked. I can't deal with that. I just want pictures, and that's a picture thread. But instead it's maybe one picture every 5 or 10 pages, and a LOT of discussing various parts of it. Maybe if we had a mod lock a thread after 500 comments, or 1000 comments (60 pages, or so), we could... I don't know. Start a SECOND thread and do it that way. Keep it to pictures. Comments included, obviously you can't gag people, but..... It'd just make MY (and a lot of other people's, I'm sure) life easier.

As for the body parts threads....... They're not exactly my cup of tea. I think it really is giving the wrong impression to new members. But then again, who am I to say?

I don't know why everybody's completely ignored Erin's post on here. I agree with everything she's said. How people say guys are bad, but we girls seem to be worse  . I'm not ragging on anyone, I respect all of you, since I hung out in here ALL the time at one point. But now when I visit Coldplaying, it's Lounge>World of Music>News>Entertainment/Arts. I'd be willing to post in here, but it just strikes me as a very tight group now, with a lot of private jokes, and I feel like I've fallen out of the loop. In the past few months I've sort of changed. I feel awkward talking about people in that way, when I know how much I respect them for the work they do that's completely unrelated to a physical appearance. I can't write something without thinking "Cripes, if they ever saw this."

There needs to be a rule.

It should be: If you ever came face to face with a member of Coldplay, and couldn't look them in the eye and say the things you say on here, then you shouldn't be saying them. And if you feel guilty about thinking about that, then you shouldn't say it.

Just food for thought. I hope some reform can happen on here, and I can start visiting the Coldplay part of Coldplaying again. But if not, it's ok. I'll go back to the World Of Music now....

Forget about the whole thing!!! if you dont like those threads just ignore them etcc.........

It's hard to ignore something that you think goes against something you think is right, or appropriate. But if you want to disregard what I've said and throw the "just close your eyes, plug your ears and sing 'la la la'" cliche at me, then whatever.

erm yeah im sure you have MORE important things to occupy you're time!!!!!!

Why are you being so inflamatory? I did nothing to you. I wasn't insulting anyone on here. I'm trying to make suggestions as to how we can make this place better. It's been on my mind each time I come here.

It's this dismissive attitude we all have that's the problem, I think. Why are we all wound so tight on here? Just relax, not everybody's out to eat your babies.... I don't think Reilly killed anyone's brother (well, I don't know that  ), so there's no need to call him the things people have in here.

A lot of the meaningful posts get looked over, while everybody continues to bicker. I feel like that same thing's going to happen to me, like it ALWAYS DOES on here lately. I'm so sick of it.

I was getting sick of ppl complaining about those threads and all,I mean who really cares about it?

There are more important things to think about then have a discussion about some threads that were started by whoever, makes me sick that ppl spend time actually replying and thinking about crap like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes there are a lot of the posts made in the "picture" threads that aren't pictures. That's where we all hang out. I know in the lounge everyone has their own thread named after themselves and that's where they talk. Well we talk in here and I know if I want to talk to Therese, I can leave a post in the Guy thread and she will see it straight away.

If you find something offensive than either ignore the thread or report it. That's what I do.

As far as raising the "content" level in here, well I don't see where posting every news story that mentions the word Coldplay for 1/2 a sentence is making this place more interesting. I always check the main site everyday and read the news stories I find interesting before I even come in here. I don't care if some farmer found a potato in his field that looks like Chris Martin, who's by the way married to Gwyneth Paltrow.

You can say what you like about these "girls" but they are dedicated and passionate about this place and the band. This place has become very boring over the last day since this was brought up.

I feel like people are trying to tell me how I sould feel and if it's not the way they feel than it's wrong or I'm some kind of sick fuck.

^I love your avi by the way

I hope we all lighten up about this.. giving me a headache.

*wipes forehead*

I can't believe I finally got to see those lovely legs. If I see Miller at the show on Sunday I might have to give him a big smooch for taking that pic.

I don't know. I guess that it's just this board is incredibly divided. It's the Lounge folks against the Coldplay folks. Ian created this section for Coldplay. The Lounge is for people to hang out.

I mean, you've just got to see where I'm coming from on this. All I want is to get some new pictures to look at and I have to go through 15 pages of "night" "hi" etc etc. I was guilty of this in the past, I admit that, but.... There's just got to come a point where people realize that this is ONE forum, not two seperate ones. If everybody wants to talk to each other, go make a dedication thread in the Lounge. Nobody's going to bug you in there about chattering. It's what it's for. But to make a Guy thread a chat thread isn't the purpose of it.

I just think it's inappropriate for underaged kids to be writing or reading some of the stuff on here.... That's all. I don't think that's too out of reach to comprehend... I hope?

EDIT:

What about the CFU section? I actually thought that's what that was for originally... So the Coldplay groups could chat about the band really freely without clogging up this section. That could help a lot....
