We were sat waiting, early on in the evening, and there's all these artsy folk about acting all cool like "oh yesh i've heard there's some band playing tonight, blah blah" :toff: and i'm sat there shaking with excitement thinking im going to be the only one who's gonna be up there front row going nuts....lmao, how wrong could I possibly be!!! :lol:

Dirty Pretty Things play chaotic surprise show

 

Liam Gallagher appearance drives crowd wild

 

Dirty Pretty Things have played a surprise gig at London's Proud Gallery - where they were joined briefly by a very special guest.

 

As previously reported on NME.COM the band only confirmed the last-minute show on the day of the gig (September 29). However, the venue in Camden was packed out with fans.

 

Despite the threat of cancellation due to the weight of numbers Carl Barat and his men managed to play five songs before the crowd surged forwards.

 

However the band managed to continue and almost played a song with surprise guest Liam Gallagher.

 

"The crowd just started chanting 'Liam!', 'Liam!'," an eyewitness told NME.COM. "He managed to push his way to the front and got on stage with Dirty Pretty Things. He just stood there with his back to the crowd banging a drumstick."

 

However with security struggling to maintain a cordon around the Oasis frontman, organisers decided to abort the gig and emptied the venue. This meant a full collaboration failed to take place.

 

After the hectic scenes, Dirty Pretty Things are now set to embark on a full winter tour, where they play:

As previously reported by NME.COM, Carl Barat's outfit are also releasing a new DVD. 'Puffing On A Coffin Nail, Live At The Forum', on October 16.

 

It will feature their set from the band's London Kentish Town Forum show from May, 17 other live performances from across the world plus extras.

Well they're definately going to have to include something from the show I was at, the dude filmed literally right next to me (I think I smacked his camera a couple times in my.... excitement?). Oh shit that's horrifying. At least I'll know I won't be in ALL of the shots like I would be for the Arctic Monkeys DVD when it's released (the dude practically filmed me the whole time and I was super embaressed since I only realized this at the END of the gig).

I say that I've met Didz, Stan, Gary and Carl just because I was so close to them and I said hello and had tiny convos with each of them (except Carl, I literally... I think I forget to breathe around him, he's that gorgeous in person. He's so UNREAL. Even when he was in front of me. I had to keep taking pictures to tell myself that yes, it's him. It's not a mirage. :laugh4: ) But yeah, people are always like "OMG DID YOU MEET THEM?" and I always say "yes!" even though I don't have a photo or autograph to prove it!

 

 

I think I look horrible in photos, I don't pose well, and I'm not much of an autograph person unless someone's willingly offering it. I sat on the ground next to Didz for an hour, for christ's sake! I could have asked him. But he was having a smoke, so... I let him to it. :laugh4:

I don't care to much about getting things signed either. It feels kinda I dunno, pointless having someone's signature on a piece of paper.

 

It would be a huge bonus if I did get a chance to chat to them or take a photo but I don't think that I could say anything really.. If I met Peter I would probablly just stare and touch him, make sure he's real you know :laugh3: No, the show is enough for me.. the rest would be amazing!
