YAY!

what an incredible gig.

They must of played for about 2 and a half hours. The longest encore I have ever seen, consisted of about 10 songs. They basically played every song I ever wanted to see Pete do, so many obscure covers as well.

From what I can remember they played(not in this order)

What Katie Did

Dont look back into the sun

Time for heros

What a Waster

Cant Stand Me Now

Killamangiro

Albion

Beg Steal Or Borrow

Sedative

Fuck Forever

Animal Nitrate(Suede Cover)

Smile(Lily Allen Cover)

Money in my pocket(cover)

West end Boys(Pet shop boys cover)

Pipedown

Au Rebours

La Belle et la Bette

East of Eden

I love you(but your green)

And loads others I cant remember.

And they finished with a new song that sounded brilliant. Never heard it before. Pete was in great form, although he was a bit wasted. I hope he was just drunk, we were told by a taxi driver that he was in the pub drinking from 3pm so that would explain that. He smashed a few lights on stage as well and stage dived during Killamangiro. He also tried to read all the letters thrown up to him during the gig. At one stage he was reading from a letter as the band started the intro to Killamangiro, he seemed so into the letter that it looked like he would forget to sing. And then just at the right moment he launched into the “Ooooo ooooo ooooooooooo ooooo ooooooooooo” bit, twas class.

There was so much else going on that I cant remember, I have photos that I will post soon and also a few videos that will probably be up on youtube soon.

What a night!

I LOVE THESE MEN.

DIDZ SAVED HER LIFE.

HOLY SHIT.

I dont think her life was in danger, but she said it was pretty nasty!! apparently the band seemed overwhelmed about the size/rowdyness of the crowd. The room was too small...and the barrier was too flimsy. :\

She took videos and said she'll upload them when she gets t' net.

LMFAO meh, whatever! I'd lie and say he saved MY life! :laugh4: ;)

Gah, well tell her we're all excited!!! :D (and miss her like all heck!)

heh, yeah.....she should say that!! Well....he did, in a way. and Steph said that her and the people around her were holding up his microphone at one point as the barrier was pushing it over. :uhoh:

I'll pass on the message...I think she said she'd getting the net soonish.

Janie Jones video

Has anyone seen it? & more to the point, does anyone have it for download at all? ;)

I just saw it about two minutes ago on mtv2 and have fallen in love with it; so far i've spotted Peter, Carlos, Mick Jones, Lisa Moorish and who i think is Drew (wearing the hat he wore in those 'LaundraShambles pics, where he's trying to put beer in the washing machine).

So yeah, thoughts? Anyone else spotted? And any links for download? *looks cute, and begs*

xxxx

*dies*

HEY!!! I'm back!!!! Finally got my internet set up! Been reading your comments....bless you guys thinking of me when you read about the Camden gig! :nice:

Well....I can feel a majorly long post coming on, sorry in advance guys!!!

So - I got out of the shower, and one of my flatmates, James, comes up to me and says "you know you love Dirty Pretty Things....well if we leave here in 20mins we can go and see them tonight" :shocked2:

I swear I nearly peed my pants on the spot. I've never gotten ready to go out so quickly in my life!!! It was nuts. I still had soaking wet hair when we left the halls, lmao.

So we walked down the road into Camden, and found the place that we had heard they were playing. We payed 7quid on the door and the doorwoman confirmed to us that they were playing there....omg! We got inside, and I couldn't believe how chilled out everyone was. The crowd were quite artsy and older than us lot, and I seemed to be the only person who was practically pissing themselves with excitement, lmao. I walked into the next room where the band was to play, and it was TINY. I just couldn't believe it. A lot of people were in the room, but no one seemed too bothered about getting to the front or anything. But there was this one guy sat on the floor by the railing, so I went over and chatted to him for a while and then decided to stay there and save my place in the centre.

By the time the support act came on (who to be honest I wasn't too impressed with) the place was suddenly rammed full. A lot of fans must have heard about it. I was crushed up against the flimsy feeling barrier, which was already wobbling quite a bit, and we all started to get the feeling that the venue was way too small and underprepared for what is now a very big band with a big fanbase.

Then all of a sudden, the crowd goes wild and I see Anthony walk onto the stage, right infront of me. Seriously, not even a metre away. E%^&*RERTY()#$%.

Then Carl, Didz and Gary followed. The place went insane. Carl had a hat on and cigarette in mouth, and as we all shouted "Carl!" to him, he walked along and shook all of our hands and said 'hello' to us. :dead:

He was so close to me that when the shitty barrier started to fall over during the first song (:stunned:) I fell head first towards his crotch, lmfaooo :drunk: and I when I put my hands out I touched his jeans.

Still the crowd were loving every second of it, singing every word like their lives depended on it, despite being in a lot of pain and getting seriously crushed.

Then the the crowd shifted and we got pushed along to the right side infront of Didz. In between songs the barrier (which was now being sort of half-held up by two poor security men) started to fall forward again, with loads of the guys behind me falling ontop of me. Even though it was really hurting (by this point i'd lost my shoes and my feet were getting trampled on, ouchhh) I was still laughing my ass off, and shouted up "Didz!!!" and he looked down at me and said "are you ok?" and I put my hand out and he sort of grabbed my hand. I don't know if he was trying to help me up or just replying to me shouting his name....but fuck, it was awesome. :wacky:

Throughout Gary had been looking quite worried at the state of things, and came onto the mic to ask the audience to stop pushing, but it was no use. I couldn't really see behind me, but it seemed like there was a group of drunk guys pushing everyone forward. They carried on playing, with people falling over, amps getting knocked over, security totally powerless over the crowd. :\

Eventually they all took off their guitars and Carl sat down to the right of me, just an amp inbetween us, to have a cigarette while security tried to calm the crowd. He looked really dissapointed at how things had turned out, and just sat rubbing his head and smoking.

99% of the crowd were amazing...they showed nothing but love for the guys. But a few pricks at the back just ruined it for everyone.

Anthony seemed to want to continue, bless him, and started playing on his own....i'm sure it sounded like he started playing The Who's 'My Generation' at one point!

But security spoke to the band and they then began to walk off stage. The main security guy explained to the crowd that they just couldn't risk going on with everyone getting so crushed and hurt at the front and practically spilling onto the stage.

Just as they were walking off stage everyone started screaming again....for a second I thought it might be Peter :stunned:

But no....it was Liam Gallagher  He seemed pretty drunk, and was banging on the drums with his hands like a little kid. The securuty guards were trying to get him off the stage but he just wouldn't leave, lol. I got a good video of it.

Anyway...i'm totally rambling on now. There's so much to tell, I can't even remember it all right now, it's all a bit of a blur. But here are some short videos from my mobile phone if you fancy a look:

When the barrier fell forwards it knocked over Didz' microphone, so me and some guys around me had to hold it up for him to sing into during Deadwood:http://www.sendspace.com/file/j7fqp0

OMFG: http://www.sendspace.com/file/tzku1n

Didz&Carl (sorry it's so juddery, was hard to hold my phone still!)http://www.sendspace.com/file/hyr9av

Diddzzzzzz: http://www.sendspace.com/file/uyyyfm

Liam Gallagher and Carl looking pretty pissed off  : http://www.sendspace.com/file/5cn2fd

From what I can remember, this is a really rough setlist (if anyone knows it exactly that would be great!) :

Deadwood

Doctors and Dealers

If You Were Wondering

Blood Thirsty Bastards

You Fucking Love It

Bang Bang You're Dead

Gah....I just don't even know what else to say!!! Despite the problems, it was definatley the best gig EVER for me! :nice:

Holy shit Steph. Holy fucking shit.

I seriously can't say anything else............................. but duuuuuuuuuuuuude. :dead:

So, I'm leaving for London in ten minutes. KTHNXBAI.

Danieeellleeeeeeeee :cheesy: How are you!?

Man, i've missed this place so much!!!!

Seriously, i'm still in shock over the whole night in general. Walking home from Camden me and my flatmates that also went were just in this sort of stunned silence. That gig will go down in history, im telling you! I need some sort of 'I survived DPT's Camden gig 06" tshirt or something! :laugh4:

Did ya watch the videos?

WOW!

That's just.. wow.

Glad you survived.

Wow.

:stunned:

I don't know how I survived!!! My knees are literally black and green with bruises from falling on the barrier so many times, it's gross!

Have I missed any news or anything!? Have there been any reviews of the gig from other fans and stuff?? I'm interested to read what others say about it.

We saw an NME photographer taking lots of pics, no doubt there will be something about it in next week's issue.

There are some pictures at livejournal (in the comments)

and a thread at the DPT-forum. Seems like most people had a good time apart from the assholes..

Oooooh thanks for those links hun, the pics on LJ are amazing!!!

'I have to say I've never been in a more ill-tempered audience; normally you get pushed over and people help you up. Here they just used you as leverage to get closer to the stage.'

^So true. That's just what it was like. :\

Actually, the Arctic Monkeys' crowd when they played at the Avalon in June was similiar. lmfao, all I thought when you said Didz asked you if you were ok was that Alex did the same for me. It was just lucky that we actually had a barrier that was BOLTED to the floor instead of.... not? :laugh4: :\

That's actually really scary. I know what it's like to be in a rough crowd, and it really takes a lot away from the show. Obviously it doesn't ruin everything, but still... It sucks a lot.

I believe in prohibition.

Defenitly.

I can understand people getting excited but fucking hell, there's a limit! You can't push people down on the floor just cause you wanna get closer or whatever..

And the person that took those pictures gotta have been pretty close to you Steph? Looks like it after seeing the videos.. (the second one with Didz closeup :drunk: :dead: fuck me!)

Yeah totally. Arctics was the most mental gig i'd ever experienced before this. I mean, shit, I had to get pulled out of the crowd cos my ribs felt like they were gonna crack or soemthing! :uhoh:

But this was a whole other level. I don't think i'll ever experience a gig like it again....well I hope not anyway. One of the times I fell over, I was flat on the floor with all these guys falling onto me, and it REALLY hurt. Like, not even funny pain, I just wanted to get out of there. No one even helped me up, until some security guy noticed me under the pile and shouted at everyone to get off of me. It was so scary. :\
