Threads like this are rediculous. They're on the same level as the Sun newspaper - people taking sick joy in his misfortunes and seemingly enjoying the fact that he may actually die because of his illness. :dozey:

 

Well he doesn't need to. He could do something about it if he really wanted to, and he could set an example to others in his position, instead of setting a bad one with photos like this.

People would have a lot of respect for him if he gave up his lifestyle completely, went and lived on a desert island or something, and maybe came back after truly cleaning up his act, instead of taking part in this seemingly unending "circus".

 

Which I think should not be thought about ANYONE, no matter how much you disagree with what they do.

Well there are a lot of people out there who find his behaviour sick and totally reprehensible. He appears to be oblivious of the fact there are fans out there who could imitate his actions just to be like "their hero". That is extremely dangerous and perturbing.

 

Yes, he's a junkie. We know he's not an angel and I don't think anyone on this board has 'blind hero worship' for him.

 

Judging by some of the reactions and posts on here, I would tend to disagree.

If anybody had any sense, they would boycott his material and performances until it was clear he was totally "clean", instead of indirectly encouraging his present actions.

 

But in many people's eyes he's a lyrical genius and a beautiful poet who should be respected for that and not called 'worthless'.

 

If he reforms and truly cleans up his act, I'll have respect for him. Any talent he may or may not have is being totally overshadowed by his "habit" and his high-profile relationship.

 

Saying someone is a 'waste of space' - to me anyway - is a horrible, horrible thing to say.

 

Directly or indirectly encouraging people to "shoot up" is a horrible, horrible thing to do.

 

Anyway, "waste of space" is being used in the same way as pathetic, useless, moronic or lame.

The same could be said of Jade Goody, for example. She also needs to wake up and change her ways before it's too late.;)

I truly hope he gets the help he needs. This is not a time to call someone a waste of space or keep insulting. This is serious health problem that unfortunately he can not control. Taking a class on the pharmacology of drug abuse was the best thing I have ever done at school. Really. Damn there are things drugs do that fuck you up so much, deep down to the last parts of your brain and it takes so much to recover. Of course he wants to be clean. But there is no choice when you are in excrutiating pain and going through withdrawl. If it's easy to acquire the drug, then why the hell not? He just needs to start over clean. I think mental and physical support is the only appropriate thing anyone should say. Come on Pete, you can do it.

People say "waste", but this comes from the people who have never "been there." Indeed, I haven't, but I'm not the one who talks out of my ass. For people to pass judgement so quickly like that, it's wrong. It's like saying "ugh, why can't that retarded person learn how to read?" Obviously, it's not in the same exact category or situation at all, but it's a similiar reaction. And I'm just so tired of it.
