Oh and as regards the tittle... doesn't it sound a bit too "childish" to you as well?

Amen, Andy. Thank you! I felt very alone in here for a bit! :\

How beautiful is this video? It's been awhile since I've seen the Newsnight interview, I like how this person took the performance out.

What a tune.

:nice:

OMFG. *hyperventilates*

How could I never see that before? That needs to be ripped, so that's what I'm doing straight away.

I particulary love the bit just before he sings "say you'll forgive me", when he stares right into the camera. It makes me ticklish.

It needed to be said really. I feel better now for sharing that, even though some might not be arsed and just skip it after reading the first sentence.

Drew has a message to everyone who posts stupid shit in that thread:

In fact, I think I'm going to make that my avi. I know I always change it, but lmfao. It's how I feel a lot of the time on here.

Oy, Andy, then I bet you haven't seen the Newsnight interview! Best ever :nice:

Here ya are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGmBmb2Jjkc

Have you seen 'Hired Gun' yet? It was the first thing I ever saw of him, and although it might be Peter in a bad place, I think it's really...... tragically beautiful? That's really what Peter is. He's not "clean" (not really talking drug use here ;) ), he's not a saint. But he's saintly?

Very interesting.

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGmBmb2Jjkc

WO WO WOOO Thanks! So much to catch up on I'm a bit overwhelmed. But happy, yes oh so happy.

No problemo! There's such great stuff on youtube, I find something new every day!!

Like the avi and sig? :D

Yes, well, we get along just singin' our song, people tell us we're wrong...

*do do do do DO*

fuck 'em.

 Was just about to post an appreciation message! Loving the looks of them

Very VERY appropiate for the moment I'd say.

Haha, oh yes. Drew is so freakin' hot... honestly. It's completely unnatural. He's just got that whole "Yeah, let's fuck down the alleyway" look about him. I lose my ladylike qualities when I look at him.... :uhoh:

ehmmmm

Are we the kind that ever got those qualities? Maybe buried very down beneath the needs of getting sexual with rock stars?

Mmm was that way too honest? :uhoh2:

I sure hope not.... It's a condition I've had to deal with my whole life... :bigcry: A never ceasing lust for guitar players, singers, bassists, drummers, pianists, kazoo'ists..... it just goes on and on.

:bigcry:

EDIT:

Oh, and I forgot to mention junkies. Junkies too.

Especially junkies.

Love and lust for black fingers. I just renamed this thread.

LMFAO.

It's so fucking truthful!!!

REPRESENTIN'!

That's an interesting strory, as you said confidende is one of the most important things in life. Thanks for sharing hun:wink:

It really is, they make me want to go out and have people get to know me, yanno? instead of just hiding in the shadows... ;) It's really the best thing ever. :nice:

you're welcome, glad you asked :D

Pete & Carl are great musicians. The Libertines were an amazing band as Dirty Pretty Things & Babyshambles are now! Don't mess up with 'em!

I've just heard the latest Babyshambles single, and it sounds like a load of people shouting. Terrible.;)

Oh and as regards the tittle... doesn't it sound a bit too "childish" to you as well?

You're biased.;)

It might make sense to some to make this Pete bashing thread, and to some extent, it's okey if you have an opinion built upon facts and things you believe in. So, for instance, if someone came on the Libs thread and said they really don't appreciate their music for X reason (being, I don't know, I don't relate to lyrics for example), that's absolutely acceptable and I respect those kind of opinions. It's constructive criticism and it might lead to some interesting discussion.

Now, making a new thread to post something that is most likely to be published in the yellow press, that's a whole different thing. First of all, the truth about it all is far from reliable. But that's okey, we've all read at least one thing that was posted on The Sun and believed it. But what I really feel insulting and agressive is when they start being patronising and laughing at me cause they can't see 'what's all the fuss about'. If you're not interested in their music, then that's your business, move on. But you can't be so narrow minded to assume that we're all stupids for liking this band that some junkie decided to mess around with.

I'm not ashamed to shout out loud how much I love their music, and how I'm constantly discovering myself as I find new stuff for me by them. I'm not ashamed to say I stayed up almost whole nights listening to their albums and finding new sounds and little details that have new meanings everytime I listen to them. So, basically, I love them, and if you don't, sorry to say but I don't really care and that won't change the way I feel about their music. It's you that's missing out but hey, you're probably having a blast with some other band that I haven't discovered yet (or might never do). And that's exactly what's so fascinating about music: DIVERSITY.

As regards The Libertines (and after bands), they are yet another band that I'm obsessed about. Yeah. They talk about stuff I can relate to, real things such as love, hate, sex, music, anger, absolute happiness, depression; basically topics I come accross in my everyday life. And just like The Verve (who happen to had a quick moment of fame and then crashed), they felt like real people to me. They fighted, they hated each other and loved each other in the same proportions. They were friends, some still are. They LIVED and showed that through their music. And I'm passionate about that. They weren't afraid to show the world something that wasn't perfect, just because they believed in that with all their selves. And that's something I admire with all my heart. That's what heroes are about for me. But again, I'm just sharing my opinion here, not trying to be some fucking mentor or anything. It's just a viewpoint, so should be taked as such.

You can't compare them to The Verve. Their songs were melodic, and "Bittersweet Symphony" is an absolute anthem.

PD will never come up with a song to match that.;)

Sure' date=' the Stones have "indulged" a bit over the years, but at least they became famous for their [i']music[/i] first!!

What do most people know Pete for? Being a junkie and dating a snorting supermodel, that's what!!

Pete Doherty hasn't recorded anything yet that is in the same league as anything recorded by the Stones, who are rock giants. The record sales speak for themselves.

The Stones are still going after 40 years.

The way PD's going, he'll be lucky if he's still alive in four years.;)

Pete is everything Chris Martin isn't. A terrible role model who seems to be lost in his own mind.

I really can't see what all the fuss is about.:dozey:

This post really insulted me.

So 1: For people that only read the sun or the likes Peter (WITH A FUCKING R!) is known for his drugproblems yeah. For people that read musicmagazines he's known for being in one of the best bands ever. For being a genious, a romantic, a poet, an amazing musician etc.

2. That is not true. Listen to 'Up the bracket', it's one of the most amazing and emotional records since.. I don't know but yeah. And record sales says nothing about if a band is good at all.

3. What does being a role model got to do with being a musician? If you talk to Libertines/Shambles/DPT fans I'm quite sure that most of them aren't on drugs. Just cause you like the music it doesn't mean that you don't see that drugs are bad for you.

And for the people that doesn't know; Peter has just spent 6 weeks in rehab and then went on tour with Babyshambles, in that tour he's been sober and clean according to people that go to the gig.

I've just heard the latest Babyshambles single' date=' and it sounds like a load of people shouting. Terrible.;)[/quote']

Then you shouldn't really say Peter haven't done anything remembering?

Have you heard song like Albion, Beg steal or borrow, A'rebours, La belle et la bête, Loyalty song, Up the morning, Merry go round etc?

And the latest Babyshambles single was Albion which is a slow acousticlike song with one voice, Peter's.

I seriously love you girls

Reading all this took the breath out of me, it's just so fucking nice to see someone else defending Peter and the Libertines, truly means the world to me so THANKYOU. That's really all I can say..

And I decided after reading the 'potty Pete' thread that people that say Pete isn't even worth a dime in my eyes.

Pete is the skinny junkie that apperantly is in a band but dates Kate Moss.

Peter is the beautiful genious that's in one of the best bands in the world.

I actually punched a girl over this yesterday but we don't talk about that

ps1. Danielle, love the avi and sig!

ps2. I'm having the biggest crush on the acoustic version of 'I wish' IT'S FUCKING AMAZING.

This post really insulted me.

No - there's a new song coming out as "Babyshambles & Friends". I heard it this morning on Soccer AM and it was just an excruciating row!!

You mean Janie Jones?

That's an old the Clash song that's been rerecorded for charity by Babyshambles and

The single features contributions from 21 other artists: Carl Barat, the Rakes, Mystery Jets, The Holloways, We Are Scientists, The Paddingtons, Larrikin Love, Cazals, Noisettes, Good Books, Lady Fuzz, Kooks, Jack Penate, Laura Marling, Maccabees, Lisa Moorish, Light Speed Champ (Test Icicles), Jamie T, Jeremy Warmsley, Guillemots.

Well in that case they shouldn't have bothered. It just sounds like a load of drunk people down the pub.;)

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they were drunk when they recorded it.;)
