Drug abuse, alcoholism, etc. Yes, its reprehensible behavior. However, that doesnt demean someone's genius. I know that statement Its a matter of taste and opinion and ergo I'll stop with the Pete related coments. Most of the artists, writers, musicians throughout history that have been in fact considered geniuses in their field have been not necesarily what you call sane. In fact, most of them were characterized by a self destructive behavior indulging, perhaps, in drugs or alcohol. By this means, I am not justifing and promoting the use of these subtances, as I, myself find it very irresponsible behavior. I dont think that has stopped literature books from recognizing the brilliance of many writers, right?

Yes, but Pete flaunts it, and through his "public" behaviour, continually sets a bad example. If he kept everything behind closed doors (and he at least came across as "sober" in public), it wouldn't be so bad.;)

The thing is, he's not pretending to set an example for anyone. And he's conscious that even if he wanted, he coulnd't be one. But as he knows as well that he's under the public scrutiny constantly, he tries hard to get himself together.
