well i think that x&y showed how company does things.

lol but i like the perspective of future Guy lol

so we can assume that their next three albums will hit rock bottom

but after that the music would get good cos contract expires?(here's hoping)

I don't know if they're really that distracted by EMI while they're writing songs..if this is the case why did they throw away an album already complete to make a new one? The problem is that some decisions really sucked

Industry politics 101... Basically, Yes.

Record labels lose money on most of their artists. The top 4 or 5 artists that a label has have to make enough money to pay for the others.

Unfortunatly for the top artists, it means they get promoted to death like we're seeing with Coldplay (do you really think there would be such a backlash against them if EMI wasn't so desperate to make every single person on the planet listen to them?), and for the lesser ones, if they don't deliver enough to become one of the top moneymakers, they get underpromoted, written off, and dropped.

don't forget the strong depression Chris had, last year in april/may

Yes that was probably due to the forced release of X&Y...I don't know if I just can't see these things you're pointing at or if I don't want to see'em (though I'm more for the second option)

I don't want them to be exploited by music industry..ok no let's say the name, by EMI like animals to be squeezed dry

yeah..it is. radiohead had the same thing and right after they made 6 albums they broke the deal' date=' and now they don't have any label but they're searching for something small i belive[/quote']

go indie, coldplay.

Fuck... they're such morons.

NO wonder Coldplay made The Hardest part video.

Three more albums... then they will hopefully get the boot from the boys.

i specially hate emi. i blame them for coldplay not coming here.

but you know...revenge is a dish best served cold...so EMI...be careful with moi :sneaky:

I think you said it best Carol.

:veryangry: Seriously that angers me. Where can I write a letter to EMI about how bad they suck. where are they located, I would picket if it were close enough.

I dunno.

I'd like to know their address too to send petitions and maybe blackmail them. hehehe :sneaky:

jinkies... listen to yourselves people...

even though record company people are shady and all they care about is making deadlines and money.. it doesn't necessarily mean they represent the band.. they represent the label.. and thats that. This fan cam thing was obviously a last minute idea some exec thru together and it was obviously not thought out well... nor planned very well. That poor fan's experience was horrible!!!!!! I feel for her.. and the other one who sold her 5th row tix only to get a 12th row one!! That just plain sucks.. but the fact of the matter is this..... the contest never said you would winn front row tix or pit. It simply stated 'tickets to the show'.. so if anyone assumed they would be getting up close tix.. did just that... assumed. As for the meeting and greeting.... if someone 'said' this... ad it wasn't in writing.. then sorry kids.. but we've got nothin'. Sucks though.. and I really.. I feel for the fans.... but, the true test will be to see if any of the fan footage is used in the dvd..... I think I'd me more pissed if I went thru all that.. and they didn' even use my footage.

oh, and I think the Parlophone deal is 5 albums... not 6.

Holy shit! :stunned: That's terrible! :veryangry:

I bet the boys would feel so bad if they read that :(

And I feel so bad for those poor fans, what a shame for them. They must have been so excited and everything...I would be so dissapointed if that happened to me.

But as some have already said, it's not the boys' fault by any means, it has nothing to do with them. It's those a-holes who work for the record label.

That's made me so mad reading that.

i dont think i remember chris being depressed last year? wow where was i.... lol what was going on?

What. A jip.

I think it was just a bad case of 'writers block'...... which could be quite depressing and frustrating.

;)

That totally sucks! Kind of takes away the luck of WINNING a competition doesnt it?!

Yeah... to be so hyped up for something that ends up being way mediocre...

does anyone know if this was reported to the label or to band management??? Have they tried emailing Debs??
