I cannot understand...but I guess there's something dealing with proxys and things like that

It was said that Ian took action against fake IP adresses. As you know, an IP adress is a series of numbers which corresponds to your computer, and only to it. So when you register at any kind of place, your IP adress will appear. when you use a proxy server, you can have different IP adresses (I'm not sure but I think it changes everyday or something like that..), so you can't be recognize and apparently, it was the problem with Nettie (??!!)

Certainly used a proxy server which made her being anonymous everywhere she created an account ... But I'm only deducing about what has been posted, I don't know a thing about what happenned.

me neither...I'm a total noob when talking about technologies :laugh3:

I'm usually not that bad with technologies but this time, I'm not sure at all...

wait...i don't get what's wrong with all that?

  • Author

it means that with proxy servers, you can have different accounts wherever you want and that you can't be recongnized thanks to the constant IP adress, which, in this case, doesn't exist as there's everyday a new one.

me neither...that's the problem

but I know that with my internet connection at home my IP address is not static, it changes, I'm sure of it, but I don't have any kind of problems in logging in

oh...but i'm sure there's more to it then just a IP adress..Ian mentioned some hacker attacks...

how did you noticed she's not coming to the board?

The last numbers change. Not the main part of it :)
