December 2, 200718 yr Post the link (please ma'am)! Everytime someone scores 1 mins 36secs in something (like timed running or something...I really can't remember) I'd be like 'Yay! Best time you could get!' and then they would look at me weird!
December 2, 200718 yr ooh, no way i could find that video again. i just tried and nothing. we werent on my computer, so i cant look it up. besides, it was just the two songs playing in the background; nothing exciting. it was just surprising to hear. i burned christmas CDs for all my friends this christmas, and the playlist is quite heavy on the chris martin, which i know will make all of them groan. but TOO BAD-- his voice is amazing and there are quite a few songs hes done that are either christmas themed ("have yourself a merry little christmas," "2000 miles") or work well on a christmas CD. so theyll just have to deal :sneaky:
December 2, 200718 yr I shouldn't be on here BUT. I had a random moment today... For some odd reason "Canon in D" was on the radio in the car. To refresh your memory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Af372EQLck Anyways my friend said, " Ohhh this is what my mother wants me to walk down the aisle to at my wedding!" And I replied " haha. I want to walk down the aisle to Coldplay. :P" And she had changed the radio station and suddenly the bridge from Clocks was playing. We both burst out laughing and dancing in our seats. Soooo maybe I should do it. Coldplay music at my wedding? I like the idea! If that wasn't a hint for the future... then I don't know what is. Damn I just have to find that husband of mine now. hahaha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9j_RZDqYc4 Imagine gliding down the aisle to that. haha.
December 3, 200718 yr my brother just came into my room shyly and said "i need some music." i said "what kind of music?" and he looked all embarrassed and said "ok, you can't tell anyone, this cant get out." and i got all excited and said "YOU WANT SOME COLDPLAY MUSIC, DON'T YOU?!" he did! he asked for all of AROBTTH, "fix you," and "shiver." so i cant tell his friends because "coldplay is for homos" according to him, but it made my day. HAHAHAHA, we may soon have a new coldplay convert. i think this sudden interest is from forcing him to listen to coldplay in my car the other day. i should drive him around more often! lmao my i ask why your brother thinks it "gay" to listen to coldplay lol maybe in time he might be a fanatic like us lol:D
December 3, 200718 yr ^i doubt he'll be a fanatic, but he's on the road to being a fan! he definitely appreciates it now. which is a HUGE step. he says its gay because most 13-year-old boys like harder-type stuff and dont want to appear sissies for liking emotional, beautiful music.
December 3, 200718 yr I hated Coldplay becuase I thought they were sissies, but then one day, I decided to actually listen to them, and now I'm a fan. So yes, hating them is on the road to loving them...
December 3, 200718 yr I haven't listened to a Coldplay CD in ages. I feel a bit guilty about it actually... I mean, I sometimes hear their songs at the shopping centre I work at but I haven't listened to any of their cd's in a while. I really hope they release something soon - I want more material to listen to! Maybe our Christmas present this year will be a release date? I hope so.
December 4, 200718 yr im getting to the point where if the christmas present is anything but a release date, ill be disappointed, no matter how hilarious or adorable it may be. ive never been this anxious for something in my life. well, ok, thats a lie: my college letters are up there too. but i know this is coming, so its different!
December 4, 200718 yr To be completely honest, I don't want to think about the release date. I mean if they announce it, yay! But if t hey don't, then like I give a damn, as long as there is an album. It also came to me the other day, what will the songs be like, what if I don't like them?!!
December 4, 200718 yr ^oh, my god, all i care about right now is the date. im taking this whole "upcoming album" thing one step at a time, and to me the first step is KNOWING when it comes out. then i can properly freak out in girly excitement and let myself dream about the album itself t omy hearts content. Does anyone remember approximately when they released the christmas present on the official site last year? if i remember correctly, it was at least a week before christmas. and if theyre going to follow the same sort of timeline, doesnt that mean we should get it like, SOON? im really holding out for concrete album info.
December 6, 200718 yr ^oh, my god, all i care about right now is the date. im taking this whole "upcoming album" thing one step at a time, and to me the first step is KNOWING when it comes out. then i can properly freak out in girly excitement and let myself dream about the album itself t omy hearts content. I think it was.. like 5 days before Christmas.. wasn't it..? i remember the first time i saw it.. i had came back from downtown.. cause I had been buying some presents.. and that day was very hot too..
December 6, 200718 yr Aww man, I opened my email account and saw something from "Coldplay Christmas" and got all excited because I thought it was a link to the Christmas message, but it was just from the Coldplay shop wanting me to buy stuff. :dozey:
December 6, 200718 yr We FINALLY have a really good Alternative rock station here!!!! They've been playing everything I like, except Coldplay. This morning I got up and turned on the radio and they were playing 'Trouble'. Now I know I'm never moving my radio dial again!:D
December 7, 200718 yr Aww man, I opened my email account and saw something from "Coldplay Christmas" and got all excited because I thought it was a link to the Christmas message, but it was just from the Coldplay shop wanting me to buy stuff. :dozey: Really? i haven't recived that mail..
December 7, 200718 yr I think it was.. like 5 days before Christmas.. wasn't it..? i remember the first time i saw it.. i had came back from downtown.. cause I had been buying some presents.. and that day was very hot too.. Answering my own question: it was the 18th/19th, so right on! (dont ask me how i know that; if i think about it hard enough i can figure out the date for almost anything ) today i asked my mom her reason behind initially going out to buy AROBTTH when it first came out (because i was made aware of coldplay through her, even if it did take me 2 more years and the "speed of sound" video to get me obsessed). she said she heard them on the radio and was really captivated by chris's voice and their sound, which was (and still is ;)) really refreshing and different at the time. so she bought the CD and played it endlessly in the car when i was 13 and didnt care about much of anything besides the beatles. i was just interested in her reason for liking them in the beginning. she still really likes them, but is not exactly a fanatic like all of us. pearl jam is her coldplay, and she annoys me with stuff about eddie vedder as much as i go on to her about chris :laugh1:
December 7, 200718 yr Haha! If you ask any of my friends who my fave band is they will all say: "Coldplay, deffinately, she mever shuts up about some Chris guy, oh yeah and Jonny Buckland, she's totally obsessed with his guitar work, it'll always be 'Wow, Jonny Buckland's guitar work is excellent in this song'! or 'Chris is so adorable, don't you love his voice and innocence...'. Oh god it annoys me, like that day she wouldn't stop singing the main tune to a song she calls 1;36...."
December 8, 200718 yr god i post in this thread a lot  im currently in the process of getting aquainted with radiohead, mostly because of in rainbows, because though i respected them before, i never really "got" them. but now i feel like i totally do and am currently surrounding myself with them. ANYWAY today i was in borders and i was looking for radiohead books in the music section, and i found 2. in the process of looking them over, i went to the index of one of them and found that coldplay/chris martin was mentioned about seven times, so of COURSE i had to go find those bits in the text ;). but i got quite angry when i saw that every SINGLE reference to them was in a derogatory, degrading sort of way, basically insinuating that they are uninspired, childish, and common and anyone that listens to them is merely buying into the tides of mass media and collective opinion. there was even a paragraph-long quote from chris (which ive never seen before) put up against one by thom yorke concerning politics and the state of the world, and the author basically pinned chris as a naive airhead that couldnt possibly produce worthwhile music because of this one quote. the quote wasnt even stupid! the author based his entire argument, seemingly, on the fact that chris so happened to mention Harry Potter and muggles in his quote. it just really burned me up, because the initial (note the word INITIAL, meaning that i dont think this anymore) impression i got of the general radiohead fan base a few years ago was that simply because radiohead is less "mainstream" than lots of other reputible and successful bands, they are somehow intrinsically of more value. now that im a huge fan, ive completely dropped this opinion, but today i was reminded of it. ive always believed that its one thing to have an opinion, but if youre going to assert that your opinion is the final decision on the matter than its not even worth listening to, and this guy wasnt treating his disdain of coldplay as an opinion: he talked about it like them being totally useless was a irrefutable fact. needless to say, i bought the other book, which only has one or two passing references to coldplay, and not in undeservingly negative ways. oops...:\ [/rant]
December 9, 200718 yr Coldplay are my favourite band and I love them. I'm so bored of the nitpicking that's all the rave on these boards lately. Coldplay you kick ass. Thank you.
December 11, 200718 yr Speaking of very random things, I have this odd rituall... At 1;36pm every day, I (if I can) run to my computer and instantly put 1:36 on real loud but if I am somewhere else I just think about the song... "Sisters and Brothers, fight one another...we're as blind as each other" LOVE YOU 1:36!
December 11, 200718 yr today i woke up and felt kind of inexplicably excited. because im so freakishly obsessed, i automatically thought "maybe we'll be getting some coldplay news today!" but i didnt have time to check here or the official site before i went to work. so i come home and find A NEW PROSPEKT ENTRY!! it wasnt exactly what i was looking for (i want the DATE, and this entry makes me think the whole thing will take longer than we're expecting), but i kind of freak myself out with these gut feelings i have about things.
December 12, 200718 yr I have the Coldplaying toolbar so you know, you open the news thing and it will say something like '17 unread' and you can never really tell if there is something new because the number changes all the time. Anyhoo, I was waiting for the page to load thinking "I wonder what I'd do if one day it said '514 unread'...." and then I checked it (in only said '17 unread') and there "NEW STAR ON COLDPLAY.COM 2007" I think I fell off my chair...
December 12, 200718 yr hahaa i think id be quite mocked at college if i got the coldplaying toolbar, though it woulde be quite useful..but i check this place so compulsively it wouldnt make much of a difference :P but perhaps i could make a career out of coldplay ESP...
December 12, 200718 yr I hide mine everytime someone comes into the room... Althought one time I forgot and my brother came in and I was showing him something, but I noticed he was staring idely at my screen....I later realised he was staring at the Coldplaying Toolbar...(lucky he's a Coldplay fan)
December 13, 200718 yr today on a complete whim, i lightly carved the word "DON'T" above the "PANIC" button on my car key remote control with my penknife. its so light that no one else will probably ever notice it and ask me about it, but it makes me laugh. im a riot :laugh1:
