I am sure that all of you whose first coldplay show was during this tour will disagree but compared to the AROBTTH tour it was crap.

The shows during Twisted Logic tour were too planned, there was nothign spontaneous about them. If you look at the setlists for the shows they are all basically the same, they might have included how you see the world in there towards the end but it is always the same songs, the yellow ballons are always there, and the encore is always the same. Besides the fact that chris changes the lyrics slightly depending on the city, there is no way to tell the difference between the shows

Also, does anyone remember gravity? what about ladder to the sun? or even moses? What unreleased song have we gotten from this tour? None, maybe How you see the world but that was released in japan and that charity album.

 

plus they didnt go to south america, I live in the states so i got to see them twice but i am from ecuador and i know plenty of people who were dissapointed with their decision not to tour latin america at all

It is impossible for them to go everywhere. This tour they overplayed the US, but are also coming to new places like Hong Kong. Last tour they went to South America and missed out on Asia, except Bangkok and Fuji Festival. They have never played in South Africa, Middle East, India, China, Korea... many others. So just be grateful that you have seen them. They have been around for 6-7 years now, but I am seeing them for the first time in July. I don't care if it is planned or the setlist is the same...

I'm from Malaysia, and they won't stop here like, EVER... so I'm glad that they're stopping in Singapore (which is about 4-5 hours' drive from where I am). But compared to some, I've also already seen them when I was still in the States so I count myself lucky.

 

Who cares whether the tour stinks or not? I just hope that they'll play The Hardest Part in Singapore - that was my only grouse from the Milwaukee show.

Does the fact that we havent gotten any unreleased songs this tour not upset anyone? That is what made AROBTTH way better.

but it doesnt mean that the twisted logic tour sucked. but in some opinions it may have been worse... but i agree, they could have change the setlist a bit in the states, cause they played there so many times on this tour..

Well, when you think about it, they only had two albums to work with on that tour. X&Y had many good songs that could have been played, so obviously the shows now are going to be directly off the CD's more or less, as they don't have the room to add b-sides to their set. And for those who complain about the "short set", try choreographing 17 different songs perfectly and then perform them over and over for 2 years straight, and then maybe you'll see why they have such a "short set". mc_squared set it best, some people are never satisfied.

they are the same shows because they want everyone to have the ultimate experience. if you are a coldplay roadie, then you have a complaint. if not, shut up and let everyone bask in the glory that was the twisted logic tour. :dance:

THEY don't have enough time to play all the songs including the unreleased one..lol

 

i think they won't play so much B-sides songs..

they are a lot of tracks need to play in the X&Y album..

as this album has the highest no. of sellings last year..

 

if they don't play all the songs in X&Y..

it will in turn have some other people do not satisfied ..

they play B-sede songs but they don't finish playing those songs in X&Y!!!

in general I loved the shows, but some things really could have been better...

I do kind of agree with the issue of the lack of spontanaeity - but the setlist has changed through the year, apart from the main parts of the set. Everything's Not Lost was played on the summer shows (well the two Crystal Palace shows anyway) but wasn't at Earls Court.

 

Whatever, I really enjoyed it, and I can't wait to see them for the FIFTH time at Isle of White. Lucky boy I am...

Ive been to shows from both tours and id have to agree. This whole album and tour is much less of what makes coldplay coldplay. They arent taking risks anymore. They have become alot more americanized. It happens to all the big european bands. Same with Led Zeppelin and U2. They start out killer and then after they blow up they get more cookie cutter. Led Zep and U2's best albums are their first ones. I mean jeez there voices even change alot. Like watch a interview from like 1987 or 86 of Bono and you cant even tell what hes sayin hes got such an accent. I just wish bands could get big without getting big lol. even though thats a weird idea...

I didn't suck, it was different. It was a big time show biz concert. If it was the same as the last tour, people would complain that it was "just like the last tour".

i loved this tour, soley because it was my chance to see them and to experience a live concert for the first time. no disappointment here; witnessing great live music is a good thing

i hate when people keep comparing X&Y to AROBTTH! i mean come on- if they kept doing all the old stuff then we would be complaing on how stale it got or whatever. Quit bitchin felicote 'cause my parents didn't even let me GO to their concert- and it drove me crazy 'cause they were in VA for TWO FUCKIN' DAYS!!!!

I thought the shows on this tour were quite good. Coldplay is still a young band and haven't released much relatively speaking. It's difficult to please the majority of their fan base by substituting the hits with unreleased songs or songs from older releases. Most of the people that probably went to the shows knew AROBTH and X & Y- maybe they heard the 3 or 4 singles from Parachutes. Most music fans don't religiously follow the set lists of shows or collect boots; that's who Coldplay designs most of the set for and I don't think they'd apologize for a minute for having a seemingly routinized, standard set list.

I first saw coldplay in July 2001 at the River Rave Festival in Boston and they pretty much stuck to Parachutes for the whole set. I saw them twice on the AROBTTH tour where they mixed hits with B-Sides, and yes, it was more spontaneous. I've seen three Twisted Logic shows and allthough the set-list doesn't change alot, it does change. I'm lucky enough to have seen them tour all 3 albums and each tour was quite different from the last. If you put Twisted Logic in that context, it's just one piece in a puzzle that isn't even complete yet. Enjoy marking the differences in a band's growth instead or just writing off a whole segment.

I have to agree with you there....not with the U2 and the Zeppelin thing because I can't comment on that...but about the Coldplay thing....

I somehow feel so erm....distanced from them since X&Y...that doesn't mean that I don't like them anymore....but this era didn't catch me as much as the eras before...

Who cares if one show is like the others? Chances are, you aren't following them around from show to show. If you go see them and enjoyed it, who gives a crap if the next show, 500 miles away is similiar?

if i could have money i would see them in usa but man, is hard too see them in all over the world and not in latinamerica that sucks sucks and sucks......
