The Importance of Clothes

Cloths and style is very very important. a well dressed preppy style is the best. ralph lauren' date=' lacoste, abercrombie, banana republic, armani all good styles of cloth.[/quote']

They arent bad styles, but bad for my pocket. You dont need any kind of brandname to have good clothes.

Right now I look so wicked, and I'm wearing about £15 of stuff. My shirt was £5! The jumper over it is £2! And then Jeans are £7! Thats bout $26 in total.

If it was brandname it would have cost about £80, but that doesnt matter, people say they look like real cool clothes.

Im wearing the exact same stuff in this picture, except for the jeans which are basically the same and just as cheap:

you can go to the used-clothes shop.....they're very cheap and you can find freaky stuff!!!!:D

Actually I have an awesome second-hand indian bag. With elephant on it and all. It's so great, I love it and I know I'd never find it in shop. I bought it in Turkey and it was ridicuolusly cheap.

Well, for me clothes used not to be important..

Now it's not the same!

I care about how I'm dressed not to look as a fool...

Clothes are the first thing you see when you look at someone, and it 's the same for the other!

So how you dress is quite important!well that's what I think!

Well, the typical indieboy stance is that caring about clothes and such is materialistic and superficial (Which is ironic because people like that would never hang around with someone who isnt up on the latest Emo trends) but really, if you are going to pay money for clothes you may as well buy the ones that look best on you, and really think about what your buying. Its important, not in the long run, but to how you feel sometimes.

Not really. I mean, I look at the face first.

What I really don't get is that some people care about brands too much. I mean, it doesn't really matter if my T-shirt from D&G and costs $200 or whartever or is it from any unknown brand, does it? Nobody will ask me who made my T-shirt, what's the point in buying clothes that costs so much just because it's from D&G or Guccy or anybody else?

It's important for some people but to tell the truth i dont really care haha i'm a simple guy so just simple clothes, as long as i feel comfortable with them hmm yup

Hmm... I believe I don't care about what to wear much. I mean' date=' that's not too inportant for me. Sometimes it's funny to wear anything strange but not everyday. I like bracelets, hats and bags more. That's a pity I can't wear bracelets and hats only :uhoh2: [/quote']

:laugh2:

a shame, for sure!

Lately..and i never thought this would come true...i developed a bag obsession. I don't have many...but am tempted to buy some...

And they are not like, rediculous coach or prada (THOSE ARE UGLY ASS BAGS!) they are one of a kind from small shops.

I like woven materials and they have those nice long straps you can hang diagonally on you.

What I am most comfy in (that is why it was funny you mentioned the wish to wear only bag and bracelets) just a tank top and cute boy cut underwear/ short-shorts...I wear this at home ..and feel so free...I have been tempted to just go out like this.

Yes!

I actually own some shirts/blouses that I know run really pricey. Like past 100$ (that's nuts :freak: ) and I have shirts that are IDENTICAL to that pricey ones ...and they cost less than 10$

The brands thing will never ever ever make sense to me.

i like buying clothes..no doubt about that...but i dont really care for labels or what not...as long as it looks ok on me thats that

thats awesome. nice shirt. yeah non name brand cloths can be very nice too. just as long as you care about how you look and take care of yourself and dress nice. i hate it when people dont dress nice.

Generally when i'm at home or work, I wear shitty old clothes.

At college I wear some nice clothes (jeans). Overall clothes don't matter too much where they came from, tesco/asda all the same to me

OK, I am a total brand freak..... Stone Island is my all time fav, last winter I paid £800 for a limited edition jacket, which I've only worn three times.

I've lots of SI jumpers which have cost upwards of £130 each, I think I've a problem.

All of my mates wear lables, and look down on people who don't, which is really sad.

Labels don't mean sod-all, the clothes are made in the same factory, with just a label stuck on they can sell for a lot more because of brand name

wrong. because alot of the high price labeled stuff, like lacoste and ralph lauren are much nicer quality then many other brands. their cloth's are made out of better material and made better, and last alot longer then say target or walmart or hollister. i love abercrombie but i hate to say it but their cloths do not last that long, not compared to lacoste or ralph lauren. you're not just paying for the names you're paying for the style and the bette quality. so the high cost is also because its better quality.

whhaaaaatever...

that's the biggest bull!

When you put it on...and wear it..it doesn't matter. SOME brands out there, really are better quality..and exact form as brand names.

Only they never had that populatity Ralph Lauren made for himself.

So they are deemed inferior ..when actually, they are just as good, if not better.

Cough Cough, Brainiac a couple years ago did a test. Tesco Value jeans vs. £150 jeans. Put them though the same tests, and the tesco value jeans performed better :)

And paying for the style?

Nope, I seen a cost-breakdown of the jeans, and the cost price (the price they are charged in the income statement at) is pretty much the same (bar a few pennies) to the cheapo jeans. Your paying for a little label

indeed. this is true for the most part

companies (with big names ..some of them) really make an effort to SHOW you (through ads) just how wonderfully made their clothes are.

and most of the time it IS true.

But other smaller names do the same quality..only they don't blast it in your face as much.

I have one pair of jeans from target...and they have lasted FOUR years. (I haven't grown sinnce fourth grade  ..seriously) I wear them at least once a week

They fit me like a glove..and no seems have been busted, not loose threads...nothing. Just a tad faded from regular wear and tear. :smug:

and I have jeans from Ralph Lauren...and they have lasted just as well as my others jeans!

So this is not true..it's all in your advertisment filled mind!

Clothes are there to keep you warm. You should buy the cheapest clothes possible, as long as they keep warm...if its too hot, walk around naked.

Of course, no-one does that..but it seems the most logical thing to do.

The price of clothing has inflated so much....but still some but a pair of jeans for £300...when a pair could be bought for £30..which is still vastly over priced.

I buy clothes that I think suit me and that look well on me. Of course I cant say im not affected by brand names or what others will/do think...but I try to buy the clothes I want, while spending the least money possible.

:laugh4:

I was obssesed with the idea that clothes should be practical.

always

but I realized that they can be practical, cheap, and good lookin! :nice:

Fashion clothes are just wrong, overpriced and are stupid.

I think we should be allowed to walk naked, at least with all this heat around...

Yes...but would you??

I know I wouldnt...:uhoh2:

Fashion clothes are just wrong' date=' overpriced and are stupid.[/quote']

some are just labels (but some have really nice tailoring that can't be matched)

thank goodness for Op shops, hand me downs :)
