Random Text Messages

Text messages are annoying, no?

Dont you want to hear someones voice? Isnt it a lot more, personal? Genuine?

Texting is pretty rude I think. I do it because its cheap, but still. I guess though in a way its kindof rude to call someone and just expect them to dive for the phone, as opposed to sending a casual message that they can read when they want.

As for anonymous numbers, Cant they be scary and invading?

I keep getting some from a number, it says things like "where r u?" and creepy shiat like that. I reply, asking who it is, and theres no reply for a few days until they write something creepy again.

Its beginning to frighten me a bit.

its worst with prepaid/non-contract numbers cos you dunno who had the number before you and what they were up to! They could have been a drug dealer/mass murderer/assasin:shocked2:

On my old number i used to keep getting calls from a credit agency from the otherside of the country! & then there was also a call from a security company about my house being broken into???

I dont own a house!

Give me your number Ri, I will send you supportive and assuring texts.

Quit trying to stalk and rape me, just because I want you to.

:shockedx908:

i can smell you when you're in newcastle you know.

I think texting is very useful,i never call people,i prefer to text them, and I hate it when someone calls me instead of texting!

I get a lot of random text messages on the weekend cos it's free,so sometimes ppl get bored and random text all weekend

dude ... I think random text messages are ten times less scary than random creppy voice calls!

I get this one with one of those voice modified mechanism that makes the voice sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger (sp?) on some slow drug!?

The first time it scared the shit outta me, because it was some fool asking me my name and then getting increasingly scary by yelling profanities.

I am positive it was a joke (or Reilly! :laugh4: ) from someone at school (aparently it's really easy to get people's cell numbers! )

and now when it happens it's annoying and only slightly creepy.

Oh yeah kinda like on the movies

yeah! sorta...i just stood there like, what the shell is this shit!?

Prolly the grams, cuz she didn't get the cereal in time :laugh2: just kidding

they call like once a month!

I just like text messages when they are neccesary

Text messages are scary :uhoh:

I mean, when I send them I can never be 100% sure where're they going :uhoh2:

I really think every time: what if my message will fly away?..... Like, into space or whatever :freak:

No. i hate phones text messages and stuff like aim is better if you cant be in person. in person is the best, next to that is text messages and aim type stuff. i hate phones.

I really prefer texting!! I hate talking on the phone, well mainly because my coverage can be pretty bad and you miss chunks of the conversation. But on another level, I think I prefer it because there's no hesitation and the conversation is longer and you may be able to say things that you may not be able to say while talking either in person or on the phone.

It's also pretty handy if you're trying to arrange something with a lot of people. I don't think it's more impersonal or anything :)

i prefer talking on the phone, i dont like it when people expect me to answer their messages, i'd be too lazy to do so

I like texting, sometimes you just want to tell someone something and when I call I always feel like I should say more because calling just to say one thing seems so useless.. Texting is good... :nice:

Hahaha! So true, it takes me absolutely AGES to respond.

Especially when they fill up their message with like 5 really short questions, and your expected to somehow answer all of them in grave detail. Annoying.

^ hehe i know what u mean, i pretty much got fed up of cellphones in the end, kind of chucked out my SIM card, i think i'll just stick to home phones

txt messages are good, i loooooooooooooooooove getting messages.

I read somewhere when you cancel your pay-as-you-go card, the number goes into storage for 18 months, before being re-used.

The only annoying texts I get are from Tesco informing me of their latest offers if i call from abroad.

But about SMS's they are useful if your not online and you don't want to phone them, they can answer them in their own time.
