As for using citizens as shields, I think this whole thing is blown way out of proportion. Israel's just being very indiscriminant about what and where they attack. Not that I'm saying what he did was right, but that's what comes when you spread democracy through parts of the world like that. Hamas also comes to mind. Very true.

There not as popular nationally and hence why they didnt gain a more important role in the government. As far as i know Hisbollah and Hamas do a lot of local community work - most of it is actually good but its all aimed at gaining support and money. Thats why people vote them. They do nice things at local level. Yes. And they "butterup" the South Lebonese so when war time comes they have supporters.

As for Reagan as a man, I wasn't alive during his presidency, but he sure was an effective speaker. "The Great Communicator" of course. I would say he was one of our best. That a party that gets almost 100% of the votes was probably doing something to control the votes, since it's practically impossible to get 100% of the votes since ppl are so different. And that's what we were taught in history about hitler... they said the new democracies, which are only "democracies" always show they get 98% of the votes and not 100 so the world would think it's really a democracy. But i dunno what to think anymore... im so confused... over here it is usually a 60% majoraty (with coalitions alot of the time because there are many many political partied to choose from here)
