America - but at the time 20-30 years ago they had legit reasons. Afgahnistan had just been invaded by the Soviets and America supported various resistence movents - Osma bin laden being one of those. Iraq went to war against Americas enemy Iran and America obviously supported Iraq against there enemies. With hindsight both these decisions were wrong, but we dont have the benefit of hindsight when we make choices.
