Gotye

Featured Replies

Just found out a few hours ago that I'm seeing Gotye next week. It's time to learn his material really quickly. :laugh3:

You'll love it! I only just started to get use to his work and I'm already feeling like a little kid who once again has discovered how good chocolate tastes.

It was a brief show for a Jimmy Kimmel taping that was WAY more packed than I've ever seen his shows (we got there earlier than normal and yet got a way worse spot than usual, but not a horrible spot), but for a free show, you can't complain. He played:

In Your Light

Eyes Wide Open

Somebody That I Used to Know

Heart's a Mess

State of the Art

somebody that i used to know is so infectious. love it

Oh my, I am one of those people who can't cry because of a song or a movie but at the moment I'd probably start crying waterfalls (:P) during Hearts A Mess...

How did you like it? :)

This song will NOT leave my head. That chorus pops up on a regular basis .

But I'm falling more and more in love with the song each time I hear it-it's so, so good. And the video is incredibly bizarre, but in a good way-I like it when a video makes me pay attention the whole way through.

I've only heard one other song by him thus far as well, "Easy Way Out". Which I also liked. So now I'll be off to go back through this thread and check out the other stuff shared here, 'cause I'm definitely interested to hear more from the guy :).

Jo Whiley retweeted this video a couple of hours ago, it's so cute!

The video for that is easily one of THE most insane things I've ever seen in my life. But man, do I like it-I really respect this guy's video style. And the song is great, too. I said this elsewhere-musically it sort of sounds like Elvis Costello's "Watching The Detectives"...if that song were even more funky and full of crazy.

I'm also joining the club here-madly in love with "Hearts A Mess". How in the world did that song slip under my radar for so many years? "Out Here in the Cold" is a particular favorite right now, too.

Cute video indeed, too, _Tash!

I love Gotye and his amazing music, He is one of my favorite singers and I hope he goes even further in the music industry. Good luck to him I know that He can do it.

But some feelings have a habit of persisting even though you wouldn't let it show
