Aha, that's it :) You know, I don't like people that think that something can be more reliable just because it's originally from here. It's the same situation like when I was in the UK, some people didn't even know where the Czech republic is, and they thought it was somewhere near Russia.

In the period when Czech Republic was under communism, the cars put out by Skoda weren't so great, but since they have been purchased by VW, the cars they put out are great

Cars! WOO!, I want a Mini Cllubman for my 17th! lol

The rubbish one on the left which isn't designed for the UK market or the proper one on the right?

Good Good :D

(although that wasn't a Mini Clubman, it was a Mini Traveller)

All the same to me:P

I love the old mini, but I can't really fit in them as I'm tall :(

THE STIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Where???

^^You must be tall!!!:laugh3: But old mini's are small

The 'white' stig is a number of people.

Like for some of the more rarer super-cars they put around the test-track, the company supply their own test-driver who gets modelled in the stig's white coveralls

  • 3 weeks later...

As you might have picked up, for the past couple months I have been challenging myself to get the most mpg out of my 1,9 tdi fabia, setting myself a reasonable target of 70 mpg (just under what the governement say it should be getting).

Earlier this week, I managed this:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/27666294@N02/2787263733/" title="Oh yeah, target broken by DavidShep, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3072/2787263733_665097446d_o.jpg" width="320" height="240" alt="Oh yeah, target broken" /></a>

oh yeah

I thought I couldn't do any better until I managed to pull this out of the bag:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/27666294@N02/2787263653/" title="I didn't just break my target, I smashed it by DavidShep, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3032/2787263653_195d6277aa_o.jpg" width="320" height="240" alt="I didn't just break my target, I smashed it" /></a>

So I didn't just break my 70mpg target, I kinda smashed it, pretty good for a large diesel engine, so eat your heart out Toyota Prius :P

Yeah i didnt know that either,i thought it was just one person!!

Why is it that nearly all cars that can get over about 25MPG tend to be pretty un interesting?:P not every one likes cars and just wants a run around which I get but why people buy things like the Prius is beyond me, I would rather not have a car than drive one of them.

What do you mean by un-interesting?

The Prius is a fashion statement, owned by celebrities so that they can say they are doing their bit to combat climate change, even though the Prius is worst for the environment than a normal car due to it's batteries

I'm just not one of those people who can get excited by wow a new Golf/Focus/Audi or what ever has been released that's more eco friendly etc.

I find those sort of cars really dull to look at maybe because there's so many of them, I don't mean it in any way as a dig at anyone who owns one they just don't do it for me at all, I'm generally not a fan of cars that don't have I guess the word is soul and in honesty I find it very difficult to get excited about anything Germanic/Japanese(unless it has 2 wheels), perhaps I'm mad?.

I don't get excited by cars, for me they are a method of getting from A to B and the majority of the time for me via Z as I get lost.

But hey, I drive a skoda, an 'uncool' car, but I'm happy with it

I don't get excited by cars as such, and I would barely be able to change a tire yet alone do any work on one, I'm told I have a pretty good taste in cars(for a girl:laugh3:) I just guess I know what I like and we all have different tastes:)

What car do you have?

but then again, you live in London, where you have half-decent public transport, out here in the country, If I needed to use public transport to get to work, I will have to leave the home around 7, catching a train to the local town, walking half a mile to the bus station, catching a bus and when walk 2 miles from where the bus stop is in the town where I work to where I actually work. Out in the country, buses stop at 17:30 (and start at 08:10), with trains every hour during the day with more at peak times.

i want this car :bigcry:
