I am not!!

It's modern, and original. the lines are sharp but nice. Kinda aeronautic and seems like a fight plane. I do like it.

I'm on your side.

Nice sports car for a rich man's plaything at weekends on circuits but for an everyday car, an old mini looks more practical.

Looks like dog taka...

  • 3 weeks later...

My hunt for a Skoda Fabia continues :(

In other news, I had to do "advanced driver training" today, so that I could drive the site cars at work.

  • 6 months later...

so does anyone own a hybrid car?

You mean can anyone afford a hybrid car..

What, with all that German Engineering, Rick, you ought to be able to make your own!:) (actually, many enthusiasts have done just that - it's really not all that hard..)

I've been looking at the Finnish sites for woodgas, and have considered adding a wood gasifier to my pickup - does that count as a hybrid, if it also runs part of the time on gasoline?;)

woodgas?

Anyway, I was just reading this

http://www.hybridcars.com/electric-cars/venturi-fetish.html

"The folks at Monaco-based Venturi Automobiles have used two strategies to overcome the problems of producing a high-performance, all-electric luxury sportscar: manufacture only 25 units per year, and charge $400,000 for each one. The Venturi Fetish, described by the company as “the first production electric sports car in automobile history,” can bolt from zero to 60 in 4.3 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 105 mph. The physics behind this level of performance: 330 horsepower pushing a carbon-fiber vehicle weighing only 2,425 pounds"

uhhhh :shifty:

so does anyone own a hybrid car?

Nope

Although my skoda runs well on cooking oil :laugh3:

Have you tried too?

Well, your previous mustang can't have a french engine.

American & French car manufacturers don't have many many contacts... Except Ford & PSA for the diesel engines... Although it's rather Ford Germany, than Ford USA...

Sorry, I meant the transmission was made in France. The engine was made in Germany. But that's only for the V6's. They can call them "American," because they are assembled in America. Stupid, huh?

But my new V8 engine is made in America.

Have you tried too?

No, but I'm thinking of buying one.. but I still don't know 'cause well I like it but it's just so small.....and I missed the viewing of it so I don't know how small it really is kinda cheap.

Oh hehe i meant if David has tried to run his car on cooking oil.

Well u can always rent one?

None of us would have enough money to rent one of those.

I'm gonna ask about how much it really is to rent one 'cause I refuse to believe that the renting costs more than to have one? or about how much less ?

Oil hit $103 a barrel (US) a few days ago - seems like better hybrids should be getting down in price soon, as demand for them skyrockets. I'm betting on new engine designs - the exhaust valves and manifolds get hot because of engine inefficiencies, and that's where some of the biggest gains are to be had (along with the aerodynamics). I'm betting mileage well over 100mpg will be quite common in the future - in fact, a virtual necessity. Electrics are nice, but we need to get some better battery technologies - heavy metals are not the way to go - maybe carbon nanotube supercapacitors, light element cells, zeolite storage for hydrogen, etc. will do it. Lots of us, not so much lead or nickel, and the risks are too high.

I think if your under 25 you have no chance for them to let you rent one,and the insurance and bond would send you bankrupt!!!!!!!!
