Oh hehe i meant if David has tried to run his car on cooking oil.

Nope

I don't trust what would happen to the engine, as it still has the Police mod pack on.

I thought as much..find a bomb and then try it i guess.

What is a police mod?

It's what the police did to the car's computer to give it a bit more power.

Oh so you stole a police car?

Wouldnt mind the new Shelby GT 500 Ford Mustangs. Fairly cheap for the power you get, much more interesting than most BMW's, Audis etc and a fraction of the price.

However I cant afford the insurance or the car, so ill stick with the Nissan for the moment.

Who needs a muscle car when you have a Nissan :D

^Well said there Glen!

Not even I am that dumb.

Hahahaha...refrains from making smart ass comment.

I drive a little silver Suzuki Swift, which I still have a year to pay on, isn't the prettiest of cars but has never *touch wood* broken down or caused me any major problems. Has always been a nice little runner :nice:

I think next time I get a car I'll get a brand new one and go on those rent type schemes where you pay monthly and get a new one every three years. :idea2:

The trick is never buy a brand new car, buy a 2-year old car, then the original owner would have been hit with the depreciation and it will still have 1 year's+ warranty.

Yeah that is common sense i would have thought.

You never actually own the car though, it's not like you buy it and then just keep paying it off until it's lost all value, is a continuous thing where you get a brand new one every 3 years. A few of my friends do it and it works out well, they get a years free insurance, it's always under warranty and it never gets old enough to need MOT's.

This is where my theory of buying a car outright from the dealer/seller, using money from savings/really low-rate loan is better than buying a car on finance.

Most modern cars pass their MOTs with flying colours

Well i think mine is worth around 100 dollars if that...

Aye there is that, trouble is I don't think I'll ever be in a position to do that. I'll always be paying monthly for any car I have, whether it be a loan or finance, at least this way I'd get a new one that's under warranty every three years.

I'm really just using all this as a cover to my shallowness, I like pretty new things :embarassed: :curtain:

What do you drive mimish?

A little Suzuki swift, isn't much but it gets me around and the insurance is really low on it :D

Oh yeah they are good little cars,I drive an ancient Pontiac...

I will put money on your insurance being cheaper than my £650 for my 1.9 fabia

I don't even have insurance,waste of money!!!

I won't take that bet...wow, it is a lot more expensive.

My friend's 17 year old brother has just passed his driving test and he bought a 1.6L Honda Civic, despite everyone telling him that that wouldn't be the best move. His insurance was £2200.

I don't even have insurance,waste of money!!!

Do you have the choice?

Sadly in this country, when you get the pigs sitting in their unmarked vans, with speed guns, they use software to check:

1 - if your car has a valid mot

2 - if your car has insurance

3 - if your car has tax

4 - if your car isn't stolen

And if anything pops up, they will radio the other cops to pull you over.
