Do you think that Coldplay will lose some of their listeners in this break ?

Featured Replies

We know that Coldplay took a break and maybe ; they won't realise a new album in the next two years !

So ; do you think that Coldplay will lose some of their listeners and their existence ??

They're not on a break, dude.

They won't lose any fan at all. People know they've got to prepare a new album.

All of the real fans will still be their fans.

Those other losers just think they are fans.

unfortunately I think they will...but yeah, mostly the superficial ones.

I would like to quote Debs for that occasion:

"They’re not on a 'break’' They’re just in between albums, so they go to the studio a lot as it’s being put together. I’m not going to give out the address though! Nor the cost! I have seen it. It’s great, but not finished yet."

They probably will loose some.

But they will always gain some as they grow and expand into something new.

well we actually don't really know anything. we were told about the dvd and that went bust, same goes for the rumor of a five year break. now with the surprise tour to south america where they will play new material for their new album which release date is unknown, they have really kept us on edge, the way it should be.

true fans will always remain fans, listeners come and go.

yes, and thank god for it! I can only hope and wait and pray that all the looser old yuppies and the idiotic poser puppies move on to bigger and better things like Nickleback or something. The first shows I went to were so amazing, smaller clubs, the guys actually would come out after shows to talk to fans, everyone was so nice and the shows had a certain energy that is gone now that they play to gigantic arena crowds. One of the last shows I went to the energy and excitement were lost among the masses. There were stupid winey kids everywhere that couldnt give a crap about coldplay they just wanted to play hacky sack in the parking lot and get waisted and their rich parents were drinking out of wine glasses in the front row. It was ridiculous. I hope they loose ton's of "fans" so we, the one's that truly appreciate them, the fans for life, can have them back.

Well...I don't need to say much after that post...good points!

I also think they'll lose some of the ones who latch onto a band for a single or 2, and don't care anymore after the band isn't on the covers and the charts for a few weeks. Those fans come and go, and usually...hopefully...don't affect a band's career except in the beginning.

Well that would be those peoples loss!!!

I think so, but they'll all come back when the new album is out.

good point well made mary!

I agree with those who say that Coldplay will lose only the superficial fans...

The true ones will be fans forever... I could wait 4, 5, 6 years before another album... it wouldn't matter... cos I love them

Coldplay lost many fans after X&Y, the other fans won't step away now if they haven't yet...

Only the superficial fans!!;)

I agree with you... I think only some would loose of listening COLDPLAY,

but only superficial fans, those who don't really feel them.

Only the superficial fans!!;)

.

They will not lose their true fans. I for one will not be going!!!!

They will not lose their true fans. I for one will not be going!!!!

:D

I don't think that they'll "lose" fans...

Our whole live don't revolve around just Coldplay, we have other interests that keep us busy. The time between AROBTTH and X&Y it seemed like Coldplay fell off the edge of the earth but then they were back! and you guys still came back. The real fans might forget a little, but they'll always come back...

*edit* And of course, I'm not going anywhere! I'm here to stay, baby!

They might lose some... but they ain't losin' me. :D Like someone else said, they might gain some new fans, too.

I wish I knew about CP when they were able to spend time with fans after concerts. It's true about them posers... I was sitting behind some in Sacramento. Such valley girls and preppy guys, their favorite song was Clocks -- probably because it was the only one they actually knew.

Wouldn't it be cool if they could determine the seating for concerts by how much of a fan you are?

THat would be amazing...if they booked seating based on fan loyalty, all us Coldplayers would get to meet each other because we'd all be in the front row!! :D Of course, the front row would be 20 miles long since there are so many of us,lol.
