How far have you gone to see a Coldplay concert?

Featured Replies

Im4devils you went to the concert in Bristow, Va. LUCKY! My parents wouldn't let me go to that OR the one in Virginia Beach. :dozey:

Texas to Cleveland 1,049 miles

Texas to Milwaukee 963 miles

Texas to Indianapolis 808 miles

Texas to Alpine Vally 940 miles

Texas to London 4,792 miles

well I didn't travel far maybe a half hour car trip *cough*including the traffic jams in the city*cough* money was no option for me I think I payed bout twice as much for to GA ticket off e-bay but it was worth every cent and I think I get some points for waiting 6 hours in the freezing cold against a gate right lol.

the people in front of us were travelling right around australia to EVERY coldplay concert. imagine the cost plus GA tickets for every night. still how fun coldplay's roadies lol.

for me, about ~50 miles for my first (and best) in hartford, and then about ~150-ish to see them at mohegan sun the second time.

i gave up a lot more than distance to see them that second time, though. i had to skip school the day after seeing them because my mom didnt want to drive late at night, so we stayed in a hotel. when i got back to school, my teacher and boss and dean COMPLETELY hauled off my ass about skipping school and made me cry and said i'd lost his vote for this really prestigious class officer position that i was up for at the time, and i was really upset about it. he was just in a bad mood, now that i think about it, though. AND i got the position, so HAH.

in short, i was willing to give up my chance at the prefect position for coldplay. and it turns out i didnt have to.

i also live only ~50 miles from NYC, so im pretty close whenever chris is in his apartment there.

I would go to whole Germany and all neighboor-countries around...

If they would came here anytime again  ...

Tell me please If they do...

For me, will be 450km in february... :smug:

Congrats Livia!

7500 posts

Anyways, I'll tell you when they release the new album.

Yay!!!

Thanks, Miro!!! :nice:

The Distance for Coldplay

I didn't go that far really (as far as some other really road-hardy and devoted people have gone :stunned:) =

56 miles (one way) to Manchester, NH - 4/3/06 concert

51 miles (one way) to Mansfield, MA - 8/6/05 concert

Wow, it's so great to see how devoted we COLDPLAY fans are!!!! :)

We COLDPLAY fans really are the best people! :D

*BTW, im4dadevils I noticed that your sig. says you caught one of Chris' tape rings. That is sooooo awesome!

If you read this, you wouldn't mind sharing your concert experience would you?

I'm curious to know how you were able to catch it and what it's like

(I made some rings out of electrical tape cause I believe that is what Chris uses. . . . :dozey: )

but well, what is the ring like? <<<< sorry if I sound a bit odd asking this :D

And Texasluvsjonny, my goodness you went soooo far for some of those concerts!!!! :shocked2: WOW, I mean from Texas to London... that is far!

(you're very lucky to have gone to "Coldplay territory" *a.k.a. England*. I wonder if people "across the pond" have more Coldplay enthusiam than over here in the states....)

EDIT: To im4dadevils

Thanks for sharing your story! HAHAHA Holy Moly, Hell's Angles biker dudes LIKE Coldplay?! Now I've heard everything.

And your (2x dammits) hahaha the fat lady wrestling for the camera. and

*Nods* you have made an Altar for the yellow ring.... I completely understand ^___^ Thanks again!

Even if I could only manage to get ONE ticket would be enough for my own birthday gift!

But anyway, I got four tickets, so my best friends could go too. That sums up to $200-ish (and endless memories!)

As for the travel distance...10 miles! Heehee :sweatdrop:

I drove with some friends from Halifax to Hartford, Conneticut for a concert. It's a 12 hour or more drive to Boston, and about 3 or 4 hours beyond that to Hartford, if I remember right. We didn't do it all in one day though. Thankfully one of us was from New Hampshire originally, and his amazing mom let us crash at her house and make a proper vacation of the whole trip.

The most I've ever spent on tickets would be about $200 for a pit ticket to the Juno awards, specifically so I could see Coldplay perform one single little song.

Well basically Me and my two best friends lost our coldplay concert virginity in our home town of Raleigh, NC. We were so obcessed from then on that we went and saw them again in VA. At that point we were so depressed becuase that was the last date of the tour. Then they announced the next leg of the tour... And they weren't coming anywhere near North Carolina at all. Anyway we decided that there was no choice, we had to go, and Tampa was gonna be the place. So we packed up and headed down. A funny side story, when we got to the hotel we went to the pool. There were two huge tattooed hell's angels lookin guys in the hot tub. They were pretty scary lookin, lol. Anyway we went over and said hi. They asked us with a grunt why we were down in tampa, and we said to see coldplay. instantly their faces lit up and begin to tell us about their "magical coldplay concert experience on the waterfront under the moonlight". It was cool how us coldplay fans kinda find each other. Anyway since we decided to drive all the way to Tampa we had figured we better get PIT Tickets! so we got to the venue waaay early. We waited for hours, then they finally let us in and they was a huge mad dash to the gates. we then ran to the front and grabbed our wrist bands and sprinted into the pit. I looked around.... and the front row was taken. Then i see my friend with his arms outstretched holding us spot, on the FRONT ROW!!! we were just to the right, and at our concert his piano was a little to the left so he always came right to us to sing. The whole concert was amazing, during Talk when he takes the cell phone he grabbed the phone right next to me (damnit). Then when they throw the disposable cameras into the audience i caught it, but then some FAT ASS women wrestled it from me (damnit 2x). But then the end of the concert came and Chris looked right at me and took off his finger tape and threw it to me. We caught his yellow tape and i still have it in a little alter, haha. Its just colored electrical tape, but i treat it like a 23 karat diamond. anyway thats the whole story, hope you enjoyed it.

awesome story !! and you are very lucky btw :)

wow.. cool story... I wish to see chris next feb when they'll come here.. i'll follow them to the hotel and all that places

yer, i'll try to meet them at the hotel too :P

and the distance i'll travel to go to their concert is about 50 km.

Do "almosts" count? I wanted to travel from south Metro Detroit to Cleveland in Quicken Loans Arena to see them over Spring break on my own, but my mother would not let me. That's a trade off with living at home. I think I instilled some confidence in her though when I saw the FLips (and some other bands) south of Cleveland this past summer on my own.
