When I first saw those pics of you guys, the first thing that came to my mind is that Chris looks too skinny and like he is on something. I don't mean to be rude at all, but that is how the picture looks!

 

I saw Coldplay perform in Anaheim and Las Vegas last year and he looked much healthier! It's odd because you would think with him not being on tour any longer that he would be taking better care of himself!

 

My husband has connections in the music industry here in the US and he wanted to set up a meeting after one of the shows so I could meet Coldplay. I told him no thank you because I was afraid that if I met them, I would be very disappointed and I wouldn't like them anymore! Most celebrity "meetings" are a huge letdown and now you will always remember his aloofness when you think of them. Yes, maybe he was just tired or having a bad day but that is what will stick forever!

 

I think that he has "learned" alot from Gwyneth, frankly. Here in the US, she doesn't have a great reputation as being accessible to fans or friendly in general. Perhaps Chris has adopted the same philosophies that he just can't be bothered anymore. I certainly hope not and maybe I'm looking too much into this. I guess I just feel like it doesn't matter how tired you are, you should give time to your fans because they are what made you.

i think maybe he was just stressed that he was missing 3 hours of recording, or just had a lot on his mind and was annoyed that he was missing valuable time or something...

 

I dunno. But i've been think about that for a few days.

Valuable time in the evening? I thought the band would be working in the daytime, and maybe occasionally evenings. Plus the chance to host a radio1 show, I dont think he'd turn that down cause he'd miss 'three hours' of recording.

 

I just think fame has turned him just a little big-headed. He seemed more interested in posing for the papparazzi's photos than the fan's (and there were only 3 of us). :disappointed: He was humming and singing next to me as if he didnt want to be there and then said "are we done now?" :sad:

 

Dont get me wrong! It was an HONOUR to meet him. Just a little disappointed he couldnt chat to us a little longer. I think that because he's so famous he gets EVERYONE coming up to him and therefore he cant distinguish between REAL fans and just randomers who wanna be like 'i met that Chris Martin, yeah'

Eh... Maybe I'm biased because the artists that I meet aren't "celebrities".... But still. It doesn't matter if the person's a real fan or not, if someone is saying hello to you and just asking for a few things you can be polite no matter what. Instead of saying "are we done now?" be like "So, would you like anything else? Well I've gotta run so maybe make it real quick." I mean be polite about it...

 

 

I don't know... I'm used to eating with artists and having convos with them now so maybe I'm just not...... talking in the right forum :laugh4: :laugh4: But still, I don't think that's right and something about reading it really bothers me and rubs me the wrong way... :\ I really REALLY hate to say this because I'll probably get blasted, and I'm not trying to compare... But hey, I've met the members of U2, which in my opinion is obviously a much more succesful world wide band ( ;) )... There were 55 people outside waiting for them at LEAST, and although for example Bono didn't sign EVERYONE'S things (only people at the front) he literally did his best and took pictures and gave hugs and made small talk. There were autograph seekers, they were obvious, he gave them what they wanted but not giving more over spending more time with the fans....

 

I guess what I'm trying to say is fame shouldn't be an excuse to not be humble around fans.

It’s hard to say what was going through Chris’s mind that night. My impressions from reading various media accounts and encounters from other fans is that:

 

MOST of the time Chris is gracious BUT there are times when he’s downright moody and evasive. I guess this was one of those times. He’s only human (despite his assumed godlike status) and he did look a little “off” in those pics. Maybe he ate a bad bean burrito. Gassy Chris! :stunned: (But then he did offer to pose for media pics, didn’t he? Go figure).

 

I guess the one thing I hope and feel is that he hasn’t let fame go to his head and it’s more a question of bad timing and more public wariness.

 

[[HUGS]] to Steph and Kara. At least he signed your t-shirt and CD. Gas will make anyone rush, girls. That’s my take on it and it works for me! :wink3:

I think I'd rather meet one of the other guys, really. I mean I'd still be shitscared but at least with them they'd probably know I'm a fan and not just someone going "Oh, I saw you in the papers with your wife and your child the other day".

I've only ever heard of Chris being adoring to fans. If you remember the Much Music special back in '05, although he had to leave, he still made a great effort to see as many people as possible before he was dragged off.

 

And there was yet another account of a friend of my sister's meeting him last tour at the Tampa concert I think. She said that he was lovely and asked her if she was cold and if she wanted some coffee or tea and signed her poster and pulled Jonny in to pose with her for a picture. UNFORTUNATELY her camera was stolen before she had imported the photos so I never saw it. :(. (She said then that Will gave her a rose left over from the roses that they had given to the crowd that night too :) .) He seems to be better when he has atleast one member if not all members of the band with him.

 

However, I have heard of Chris being less than gracious. In Atlanta, he came into 99X for the morning DJ session after a mind-blowing concert. Although I was not there, I heard that he rushed through fan greetings after the show. You can tell that he was in a strange mood if you listen to the interview. He seemed to be not only tired, but very humbled and almost shaken from the night before (He had played with Micheal Stipe and was exposedto probably the craziest crowd EVER). He walked out of the stduio before his time was completley done because he got upset for playing a bad Elton John song in his home-town. He blew it out of porportion and seemed to be very on edge, so, although he did pose with people and chatted, he seemed to be tense and short.

 

Anyways I'm just saying that maybe it was just one of those nights. I don't know. *Shrug* It still doesn't excuse him, but, hey, even Chris Martin can be in weird moods. We all know how effin' neurotic that boy is sometimes.

^Exactly, I think Chris is the type of person to easily swing into various moods, good or bad, as countless interviewers have mentioned in articles after speaking with him, stating that he swung between being really giddy one moment to being morose and agitated the next. Maybe some people catch him on his good days while others catch him in one of his moods, lol.
