Droylsden 0-0 Salisbury

Blue Square Premier new-boys Droylsden and Salisbury began the season with a drab goalless draw.

The home side got off to an awful start when Gareth Morris was sent off for what looked to be a punch on Matt Robinson after just five minutes.

Droylsden had the better chances of a poor first half, with Steve Daly firing inches wide from 12 yards.

And Droylsden came closest to snatching a winner when Daly's close-range header was superbly saved by Ryan Clarke

it was never a free kick though, the one Gerrard got.

Looked like he conned the ref out of it, to me.

Like Stevie G hasn't done that before.

I remember last year he begged the Ref to give him a penalty against Wigan (I think).

Yeah, he's a cheater like.

Yep, He does this a lot.

(Good Avatar by the way David ;) One of my favourite films ever - I'm a bit of a Studio Ghibli buff)

Why thank you :)

You got to laugh at Arsenal, allowing Fulham to score after just a minute

And then scoring twice in the last 10 minutes to get the 3 points any way.

Haha. I only saw the last goal, though. Hleb's. Good goal, apparently Lehmann made an absolute howler for Fulham's goal.

Newcastle won't finish in 5th. Try doubling it ;)

THEY CAN THREAT TOP 4;)

and great goal by Martins!:shocked2:

Tough afternoon for Utd, 0-0 against Reading

£60m spent during the summer and we end up with John O'Shea up front

Was a good game though.

If Rooney didn't get hurt I think it would have been different.

Ronaldo looks great.

Rooney is injured for 2 months :D:D

The England National Team are so much better off without him.

Peterborough 2-1 Southampton

League Two's Peterborough produced a confident and dogged display to knock Championship side Southampton out of the Carling Cup in the first round.

:laugh3:

Whoever renamed the thread has made it so I can't talk about the happening in the "non-league" leagues :(

oops I changed it and merged my 'Premier league starts' thread. Change it again if you want.

Latest: Tottenham 1-3 Everton

Everton fully deserve a lead although the 3rd goal was a lucky deflection
