November 26, 200718 yr From Europe you have the 9 group winners, with the 8 best runner-ups (they remove the games the runner-ups play against the teams which foot the table, apart in the final group). Those 8 best runner-ups go into a play-off. If you think Uefa has got it back, think of Oceania to get to the world cup they have to become the best team out of the group and win 3 more matches, 2 against fellow Oceania teams and 1 against the 4th place south American team
November 26, 200718 yr But it could have been a lot worst for England. Yes - the "wally with the brolly" might still have been in charge.
November 26, 200718 yr Author I think England will count themselves very lucky - of the last 6 teams to be drawn from pot 1, five of them were Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Holland. The other just happened to be the "easiest" of the lot - Croatia!

September 6, 200817 yr I hope that Scotland qualify, they haven't qualified for a major tournement for 10 years. It would make my day if they did qualify and England didn't!!!!
September 6, 200817 yr Author If they do they're going to have to do it the hard way Macedonia 1-0 Scotland
September 6, 200817 yr No England highlights on BBC or ITV? Sadly not. Someone thought it was a good idea to sell the rights to that Irish tv company whose is more famous for their crap customer service and the hoops you have to jump though to cancel the "one-month rolling contract".
September 7, 200817 yr I hope that Scotland qualify, they haven't qualified for a major tournement for 10 years. It would make my day if they did qualify and England didn't!!!! Take it from a Saints supporter....not gonna happen with Burley in charge. I don't even need to see his comments..bet they went something like :"Although we lost, I am pleased with the way we played"
September 7, 200817 yr Author I reckon if we play the same side except Cole for Downing, it'll be 2-0 (to the croats) Lets face it, they're a much better team with no frills
September 7, 200817 yr Author I agree, unless they get rid of Barry and replace him with Shrek, after all I keep saying wazza's not a striker, hasn't been since June 2004
September 8, 200817 yr Last Saturday I watched Liechtenstein - Germany (0:6) and when they played the national anthem of Liechtenstein I was like WTF! :o It's the melody of "God Save The Queen" but with a German text instead of an English one. So funny! I didn't know that before. :D
September 9, 200817 yr There should be pre-qualification, to sort out the no-hope part-timers out to reduce number of matches and to reduce the hockey-scores
September 10, 200817 yr COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!!! Cappello needs to start Joe Cole. He's the best player we have had in the last 4 years and he isn't even recognized.
September 10, 200817 yr Finland - Germany What an exciting game so far. Sadly Germany's very weak and Finland's forwarders are amazing. But it's 2:2 after 45 minutes. :) 1:0 Johansson 32' 1:1 Klose 38' 2:1 Väyrynen 43' 2:2 Klose 44' Edit: 3:2 Sjölund 53' 3:3 Klose 83' Damn we lost 2 points I believe... :dozey: Now I'm going to watch Croatia-England! :) Edit 2: What happened to Joe Cole???? :shocked2: Is he ok? Anyway, Kovac just saw the red card. Oh and Walcott's second goal right now. :D
September 10, 200817 yr Very brutal game, isn't it? The attack against Cole was unbelievable. When Cole fell down I thought he's doing the dead swan, but then it looked like he seemed to lose his consciousness. :(
