Coldplay Debuts New Album in Innsbruck

Featured Replies

is it true?

From the site:

This is more like it as we relax in the hotel sauna. It’s hot in here, so I ask if I can leave the door ajar. This is great for ironing out yesterday’s bruises. The kids get talking to a German man named “Hans” (not his real name) while Hunt and I meet up with Chris Martin, who arrives fresh from putting the finishing touches to Coldplay’s new album. Immediately Chris orders fondue – “I can’t stop eating the stuff” – and reveals how this delicacy was in fact the inspiration for the song Yellow, Coldplay’s most acclaimed stadium anthem: “Our guitarist had been drinking all day, and was trying to recharge his batteries, so we suggested fondue. Halfway through eating his face just collapses in the fondue. So I quickly grabbed him and pulled him up by the hair to stop him drowning. His face was covered in this fondue. And I said, ‘Jonny, you’re all yellow’.”

It’s good to see Chris again, and later on he signs autographs for the kids and sings songs, including one from the new album, on what looks like a harp made from a goat’s horn. What an Alpine star!

Woah, is this seriously true? If it is, i hope we hear more about it!

Haha, yeah right. How can this be true when:

1. We know he doesn't want to ruin the surprise;

2. assuming Prospekt doesn't lie, they are still in Dover adding finishing touches;

3. The whole article just seems like a load of bollocks. Especially the fondou thing. Inspiration for Yellow? Give me a break.

But I admit, the fondou thing was pretty halarious... for an imaginary story :lol:

i don't mind any of these until if its officially confirmed.

Chris explained the inspiration for Yellow to Johnathan Ross...lol...yellow pages anyone?

Yeah exactly as i was about to say, you beat me to it! ;):).

Its on YouTube, chris was playing guitar in the kitchen of their house singing about stuff he saw...High Speed on dishwasher, Yellow Pages....

They never said they were in Dover. Prospekt was having a rest in Devon when he wrote the last entry. Who knows where they are now?

I'm sure he meant Devon when he wrote Dover..

Good imagination anyway..

Yeah sorry, my bad.

Well either way, the whole story seems unlikely. But you never know.

How many different stories are we going to hear explaining the inspiration for Yellow? Come on, fondue? The last time I ate that it was hot and would burn your face. That would be horrible, no?

I am just new member to Coldplaying but can tell you that I live in Kufstein which is very near and last Saturday night Chris Martin was eating in a restaurant with two elderly men. I asked if I could take his photo and he said yes. When I asked him what he was doing here he said he was seeing a friend in Innsbruck on the next day. I will load the picture if I can work the buttons on my camera.

Damn...my heart skipped a beat when I first saw this...

:stunned:

Please upload the pictures, if you can. I want to be proved wrong!

Even though Chris said that the inspiration behind Yellow was the Yellow Pages, I can totally see him making some cock and bull story about Jonny falling into a fondue pot. Because he loves to make up bullshit stories about his bandmates... Jonny especially.

And it's freaking hilarious.
