November 14, 200322 yr Didn't like them at all when I heard them for the first time. Might be getting into them more now. I kinda like that one song, but I forgot the name. :embarrased:
February 25, 200422 yr The Mars Volta - Televators *sighs* This song is too beautiful for words. Just as he hit The ground They lowered a tow that Stuck in his neck to the gills Fragments of sobiquets riddle me this three half eaten corneas who hit the area Stalk the ground Stalk the ground You should have seen The curse that flew right by you Page of concrete Stained walks crutch in hobbled sway Autodafe A capulary hint of red Only this manupod Crescent in shape has escaped The house half the way Fell empty with teeth That split both his lips Mark these words One day this chalk outline will circle this city Was he robbed of the asphalt that cushioned his face A room colored charlatan Hid in a safe Stalk the ground Stalk the ground You should have seen The curse that flew right by you Page of concrete Stain walks crutch in hobbled sway Autodafe A capulary hint of red Only this manupod Crescent in shape Has escaped Pull the pins Save your grace Mark these words On his grave You should have seen The curse that flew right by you Page of concrete Stain walks crutch in hobbled sway Autodafe A capulary hint of red Everyone knows the last toes are Always the coldest to go
February 25, 200422 yr Author i've got to say, i'm a fan of that song, but i think i'm starting to lose interest in the album as a whole. but yeah, good song. :D
February 25, 200422 yr I just got a hold of the album the other day, and i must say this song is one of my favorites on there ;)
March 17, 200521 yr The Mars Volta After searching as far back as January I can't find a single thread about this band. The Mars Volta are one of the greatest new bands. I shouldn't say new since they pulled a phoenix out of At The Drive-In. Still the band's only 3 years old. Their newest album, Frances the Mute is one of the best prog rock albums I've heard in years. Certainly the best since I heard Yes' greatest hits album YesYears. It's a mix of Pink Floyd-esque song transitions, Yes, vocals that can only be compared to Robert Plant, and drumming that could give John Bonham a run for his money. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is a rising guitar player and with a bit of help from John Frusciante (of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame) on L'Via L'Viaquez's solos the guitaring is unstoppable. The drumming by Jon Theodore is another brilliant part of the album. It's just what drives the music on. Then there's Cassandra Gemini. A 30 minute mammoth of a song that goes through so many phases it's hard to tell that it's the same song. In conclusion, I do realize I've composed a little love note to them, but this is by far my favorite album. Now, favorite albums don't come easilly to me. In fact I've only had 3 since 1997. Radiohead's OK Computer and then Kid A and now The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute. http://www.themarsvolta.com for a little sample of their music. Check the media section.
March 17, 200521 yr Look harder next time:: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6736&highlight=mars+volta
March 17, 200521 yr That thread is two years old. I'm not going back that far. It's obvious that they needed a new thread. And anyways, think about it: How many Oasis threads have been made? Yeah, that's what I thought.
March 17, 200521 yr *brings back the mars volta thread* i'd have to say Roulette Dares is my favorite song. aren't they coming out with a new album? and i totally think they make up words in their lyrics.
March 17, 200521 yr They just came out with a new album. Read my thread that I posted before you revived this one.
March 17, 200521 yr The amount of posts that you have has no correlation with your general intelligence. Also, my original post that I made had no intention of seeming like an attack. I was just stating the fact that you revived a year and a half old thread directly after I posted one on the same subject. The question in your post was also answered in the thread I made.
March 17, 200521 yr I will be the first to tell you that I HATE when there are threads made about the same topic over and over, I am the Nazi of that on this board, most people do not care.. and will continue to pollute the board with excessive threads. It doesn't matter how old the thread was, what matters is when you SEARCH for this topic, the other thread does show up.
March 17, 200521 yr Funny that the owner of this thread made one post and then disappeared. And yes... number of posts are no way correlated with intelligence. ;)
March 17, 200521 yr I did search the topic. However I'm a newbie to phpBB. I'm used to the search function of vBulletin (which I've been frequenting for about 4 years now). So the way I searched there were 4 pages of results and I was far too lazy to go through all of them. The results on the first page were all "What are you listening to" or the like so I assumed there were no recent threads. On the boards I moderate it's generally accepted that you make a new thread instead of thread necromancy. ;)
March 17, 200521 yr FFRepublic (now dead, had 6,000 members, super moderator) Last|[OCP] (I just quit as co-webmaster about a week ago) FFImpulse (Currently I'm an administrator) City of Final Fantasy (webmaster before I shut them down) FFDistrict (super moderator, also shut down) And a couple others I'm far too lazy to remember. As you can see most of the sites are gone now. My staffing days are pretty much gone. I'm far too busy with social life and web design these days. And no, I'm not a Final Fantasy fan. I just always end up posting at Final Fantasy forums. Wow. This got off topic.
March 17, 200521 yr Not that I'm aware of. I can care less which thread is posted in more. In fact I think that a moderator should merge the two threads. Assuming of course that that's an option in phpBB.
