I think for vinyl rip its ok

no probs, I just hope it sounds ok. you have no idea what a mess i've made digging out the old record player from the loft, setting it all up and just generally causing havoc around the house! :P

Well, it was a nice try ripping it, but it sounds quite "tinny" and flat, and it isn't really stereo sound as such... but thanks for it anyway! Hopefully when i get my hands on it tomorrow, I can try a hand at ripping it, and see if it turns out a little better.

Thats no way me being ungrateful btw, because I know vinyls can be a real pain to get a decent rip from. For someone who's never done it before, it sounds pretty good!

hahahaha, its no problem Semy.

I had so much background noise when I ripped it that I probably lost a lot of the depth etc. by removing the noise.

Although I did have fun playing music old school, I'll keep an eye out for your rip soon! :D

EDIT Hold on just a second, I think i've found a different option to rip it, which has very little background noise... might just give that a try, seeing as how i've got all the stuff out now!

Haha, going through old Pink Floyd and Genisis vinyls albums is always good fun.

Ah, i think removing the background noise would do it. But I can't guarantee my rip will be any better, it just depends on how good it sounds digitally... i don't know. I'll try my best, though!

Thanks a lot again

ohhh just realized I don't know your name :bigcry:

I think it was removing the background noise which made it sound so flat :(

I had heaps of the damn stuff! But then it is an ancient record player, with a semi-blunt needle, so its not surprising really! :laugh3:

The second rip is just the same i'm afraid :(

No probs!

I'm Jacob, and have been for as long as I can remember :laugh3:

ohhh thanks Jacob then :nice:

and I know you have been here for a long time :)

Thanks for the rip!

Did anybody get their deliver confirmation for the magazine  I haven't yet. And do any Canadian people know if Chapters sells the NME magazine?

No worries, Jacob. Hopefully mine will turn out better, since i only bought mine a month ago (and its a USB one too ). But really don't bother yourself with any more rips... you can only be as good as your tools (or whatever the saying is ).

Just letting everyone know that most of the WH Smiths that I visited in London today have their copies of NME... I got a few extra copies for friends back in Australia... hope all of your copies arrive soon.

Thanks for the scans also.

xx

Yeah, I just assumed that a load of it had been cut out on the radio, but it seems only a few seconds were missing! :(

Good luck Semy, your tools sound far better than mine! :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

Yea wondering the same, got my transaction confirmation when I ordered online but wondering if a delivery email will be sent when its shipped or whatever.

If anyone could shed some light, it'd be much appreciated. :D

Isn't very different from the radio version indeed.

I couldn't vind the NME in several bookstores.. I'll try again later this week. I really want it :(

they took my money, so they better deliver it soon :dozey:

Thankyou SO much JPW! I love the Kwik Save quip. Saddens me a bit that they don't like X&Y anymore, though, I've had it on in the car for the first time in a while today and it's reminded me how ace it is, shame they don't feel the same way!

I'm trying to think of acronyms and stuff, to see if there are any clues to be had...
