"Viva la vida" instruments used

Featured Replies

What are the instruments used ..... LIVE it is gonna fucked up .... it is like an orchestra!!!

Violon, piano, drums, synthertisers

I'd like to hear a cover with only the violon...

:D

Some up-to-date equipment lists would be nice. Any instrument experts keep your eyes peeled. Failing that, we could get Debs to find out for us.

Cello, violin, piano, acoustic guitar, electric bass, electric guitar, drums....

Tabla(s) ?

Vocals

I swear I hear harpsichord in there. Right when Chris is singing about "revolutionaries wait, for my head on a silver plate".

^ I think that may just be piano, if I remember rightly, but you could be right. I'll give it another listen.

I hear flutes too!

I think they will play live a keyboard with strings sound...

I still have this crazy idea that the new tour and what is going to be different might be the addition of a full or partial orchestra to accompany the band.

Lol maybe they were a little TOO influenced by arcade fire and they decided to recruit a whole strings section into their band. Coldplay=10 piece.

no tablas on VLV.

The tablas can be heard on ASARY where they complement the drums

Not to put a damper on anyone's day, but who says theyre gonna play it live? A lot of great songs they havent played much or even at all (Sparks, We Never Change, Green Eyes, X&Y, Twisted Logic), so theres no guarantee theyll even play it.:\

Oh, I thought it was instruments used on the album, not the song. I take back the tabla(s) :P

I hear no woodwinds of any kind. Just about every instrument is a string, percussion, or vocal.

Viva wasn't on their rehearsal list... something tells me we wont here it live what is it gonna be chris and an orchestra?

Probably more of an experimental piece... see what we can do

S

if anyone cares it sounds like a 12 part string section, possibly 14 if theyve gone for a conventional arrangement. Just think of a triple quartet to do away with tuning problems.

Tack piano....

"We were in a studio in New York, this place called the Magic Shop, and it had this thing called a tack piano there, which sounds like an old honky-tonk piano, where you put little tacks in the hammers"
