Even in AMAZON it's only VLV, without the ODAAHF. Y?!

Featured Replies

Until now we don't know the REAL name of the album? AMAZON changed it today... don't know Y...

Somebody knows what's the final answer please? tnx...

even the ALBUM ART says only VLV...

tnX pepole.

Don't worry about it, at this rate it seems like they're saving the title DAAHF for something else/special. But who knows, we might hear something Wednesday ;)

I noticed something like this today on MTV when they premiered the Violet Hill video. The album title was simply 'Viva La Vida'. Maybe they decided the 'DAAHF' part was too much for simple marketing purposes...OR...all these rumors about the B-Sides are true! Oh well, eFlat is right....we'll have to wait until Wednesday to find out!!

This leads me to believe that eFlat is correct. I think they will release DAAHF as a b-side album.

Oh, Wednesday...why does it feel like you shall never arrive?

Not that it's a bad thing but i believe they are copying radiohead. Radiohead released kid a in 2000 and its b-sides were in amnesiac.

Very good point, they wouldn't necessarily be "copying" them but its definitely possible that we could see the b-sides become an album in the near future.

Take a look at that "unreleased from LP4" section, there are quite a few of them...

i'm really getting very, VERY convinced that DAAHF is something different than VLV. not a full 100% convinced yet, but something around 90%. this is just too fishy for it NOT to mean something, methinks.

of course, i could be totally wrong come wednesday, but i really think we're all onto something! :D

CLUES WE HAVE THAT VLVODAAHF MIGHT BE A DOUBLE-ALBUM (or something in that vein)

1) news article stating that coldplay "are currently recording material which didn’t make it onto their forthcoming album, ‘Viva La Vida’ - which is out on June 12th. The songs are expected to be released by the band’s record label EMI alongside the new album." (http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44444&highlight=global+initiative)

2) same article which states some huge global initiative being announced on may 21.

3) "flotsam and jetsam" board on the wall of the bakery, listing song titles that didn't make it on the album, which jonny declined to talk about (NME article).

4) iTunes removing the DAAHF part of the title from the official listing.

5) Amazon removing DAAHF part of the title from the official listing.

6) official ad posters in international cities only calling it VLV rather than VLVODAAHF.

Wow, Wednesday needs to come sooner. The facts have really stacked up. Thanks for gathering all of those, ApproximatelyInfinite! :D

Yes, you have a good point on that! Let's hope it. :)

i'm not saying i'm so sure i'm right, but it's...interesting, to say the least :cheesy:

i do know that i'm going to be disappointed if wednesday passes without a peep from the coldplay camp. and i hope whatever it is will be as epic as it sounds.

actually on iTunes once you buy it, its called "VLVODAAHF". just VLV in the store.

the rest sounds good tho:D

haha not to be a downer but i really dont think it's a double album. it says on the recent new star (about the album being available for preorder on itunes) that the tittle is 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends". i used to be suspitious about itunes but really if you think about it they are just the sellers of the album. everything coldplay has told us has implyed that it will be the full title. i still think theres a chance there could be a disc 2 (like in rainbows disc 2) type thing but i dont think there will be a double album where each will have one title. however i do agree its quite possible just in my opinion it's not likely! hope i'm wrong though!

I have to throw my two cents in because I thought about this the other day;

4 or 5 different versions of the album, released simultaneously on the same day, with each version released on a different continent. With each version having it's own singles released in different the continents.

That's gonna be the "big global reach"

that's the best theory i've heard to date. i was thinking about this too today, and this whole "big global reach" thing has got me scratching my head.. to live up to the hype it's (intentionally) created, it would have to be something that big. even a double cd released in the same form everywhere couldn't be realistically described as having a "big global reach", any more than a single disc album would have. might also explain why the label is allowing them to be so generous in giving away songs, since they'll probably make up for sales by fans purchasing multiple albums.. of course, it's just a theory.

then again, we were told a few weeks back that we were going to hear "the best coldplay news of the year" and i'm pretty sure that news was "not the best" since i can't even remember what it was...

I stilll fully agree with you here, and I think you missed out the biggest clue to date, which everyone originally wrote off due to the lazyness of the author.

Yup yup. It used to be VLVODAAHF. Now I am convinced the album will be called VLV. But I don't know what DAAHF will be used for.

The way I think, its either going to be a bonus disk for a limited edititon release, like Disk 2 of In Rainbows.

Or, it'll be a sister-album, like Kid A and Amnesiac.

Either way we'd get the new songs, but one way EMI will make a hell of a lot more money by the sale of two albums.

I know which option I'd go for if I were Guy Hands...

Kid A/mnesiac = Viva la/Death :D

Haha, and one thing is sure: EMI is gonna make lots of money out of this album...
