Coldplay are to launch the all-new Q Radio as studio guests when the the station debuts its revamped schedule, it was confirmed today.

The band's appearance - on June 2- comes just days before the band release their fourth album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. Coldplay will be appearing on the new QPM show hosted by former XFM presenter Samanthi at around 7pm.

The band will also be the cover stars of the July issue of Q, which is out on June 1. You can read the band's track by track assessment of Viva La Vida exclusively on Q4music.com here.

I know what I'll be requesting in my email.

No, it says I need to have WMP11 plugin, but I have WMP11 installed, I can't really understand why it's not working, I don't think Q Radio is only available in the UK right?

Q FAQ

4.2 Trying to listening from outside the UK

Current UK music licensing laws prevent us from offering radio station listen-live and listen-again streams outside of the UK.

The exception to this is the City Talk radio station which is speech-only and falls outside current licensing regulations.

What this means is that visitors to WhatsOn.com who are trying to listen from outside the United Kingdom will find that the web site will load but the listen-live stream will not play.

you could try listening to the webpage via a UK proxy IP but its a long shot. Otherwise I'm sure someone will record the stream :)

Well at least I know there's some reason why it was not working, thanks Ian

Lovers In Japan (Acoustic) Exclusive on Q Radio (June 2)

Coldplay exclusive: Q Radio gets first play

Coldplay have given Q Radio an exclusive taste of their new material but allowing the station the first ever play of an acoustic take on one of their new album tracks.

The track will be given an airing during the June 2 launch programme, QPM, presented by Samanthi who also interviewed Coldplay for the show. Lovers In Japan is one of the standout tracks on the band’s fourth album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends which is released on June 12. Singer Chris Martin said he wanted Q to play the track to wish the station well.

Plus Chris Martin gave us a unique peek at the new album track Life In Technicolor in a completely different form. On Viva La Vida the band are releasing an instrumental version after stripping off the vocals, but they played a section of the track during the interview with the lyrics intact. However Chris’s rendition does lapse into an alternate version when he adds a few bars about blancmange! QPM is on at 6pm and the band’s interview will be at 7pm

The band will also be the cover stars of the July issue of Q, which is out on June 1. You can read the band's track by track assessment of Viva La Vida exclusively on Q4music.com here.

And read how the band recorded with Kylie Minogue.
