Brixton: who has won tickets?

Featured Replies

Didn't win either, but just wanted to say that it was nice waiting with all of you guys in this thread. Made it a bit more bearable. :)

I guess I'm much more dissappointed now than I would have been last Thursday. Making us wait for so long was way torturous, but what can you do. I'm glad I can claim my life back from the person who was obsessively checking my emails the last few days and wasn't really able to concentrate on something else.

Small hope for the BBC thing, but I guess I won't be lucky there either.

Nick, Jackus, everyone, we have all lost and it's heartbreaking...

I probably won't be visiting this thread anytime soon, if again at all, but just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their camaraderie, funny jokes, and positivity all through this. We won't be going, but damn we've had some fun along the way :) Lurkers have de-lurked to glorious effect and I think many of us have bumped into new people who have cheered our day.

This has been abysmally run imo. I'll certainly enter any comps again, but will expect to lose as I surely will again if the organisation's not improved over this time. The very fact only a few people here won tickets show how many entries must have been received.

I may still head up on Monday on the off-chance, but only if I have a back-up plan to listen to the gig somewhere and enjoy it as much as I can if I don't get in. Which isn't very likely, unless the weather's fine and a ton of us meet up somewhere with a portable radio and a crate of beer for a singalong. Maybe we should start a thread about something like that...?

Wherever I am I will just try to enjoy the new live music as much as possible, and look forward to the BBC gig. Three entries got through for that one in the first twenty minutes, so I'm hopeful. If I get more than four there will be two spare and they will go to some of the fine folks on this thread. We all deserve a little something I reckon.

Thank you so much again to everyone. Let's try still to be positive (hard as it is after a kick in the proverbials like this)

:)

Beautiful message right there.:)

wow, I can't believe someone would make someone else PAY for a free ticket they won! :stunned:

kinda greedy.

I may find my way up to London on Monday, I have a few other things to do in the city, and might swing by Brixton in the evening as my friend lives not too far away.... but probably won't bother. Disappointed.............

Has any of you guys advice at which time i should grab my arse to Brixton? What do u think, massive queus at the venue and might loose the gig if i arrive too late? Do u think 7 pm will be too late?

Just a bit curious :)

To confirm, didn't get anything. Ah well, until next year.

Also to homebird, I think you should get there early just in case, just to make sure... dunno really

It will be impossible for me to get there before 7, im working on monday.

I work in Brentwood, finish at 5.30pm get the train rush to brixton.

Thats my plan

homebird, doors open at 6.30, so i'm arriving at 6ish, just in case there are queues .plus id checking will delay people from getting in, so the sooner you can get away from work the better. can't you say you have an appointment or something?

This is the email confirmation recieved for the Madison Sq Garden winners:

Order #XXXXX

This is your order number for your pair(2) of tickets to the Free Coldplay show at Madison Square Garden on June 23rd, 2008. Doors are scheduled for 7:00pm. Showtime is scheduled for 8:00pmYou will learn your seat locations when you receive your tickets in the mail. Tickets will be mailed via US Mail - Delivery Confirmation. Tickets will be mailed on or before June 13th, 2008. They will be mailed from Musictoday in Crozet, VA. You will receive a white bubble padded package in the mail. Be on the lookout! You will also receive a shipping confirmation email on the day that your tickets ship.We know we've told you before, but we're going to tell you again. DON'T SELL THESE TICKETS. We're watching and we'll catch you. Trust us! If you can't make it, email or call us. We'll find some other fan who will go in your place. Thanks again. We'll see you at the show!

now this is exactly the kind of hard headed approach the Brixton gig required. and to make it quite plain and simple that if they can't make it, email or call them so that they can be passed onto another fan. well, at least we won't be seated at Brixton, like MSG.

Feeling a lot brighter today and hope you all are too. If Coldplay don't mind playing to a 3/4 full audience and having some of their best-looking, talented and most-devoted fans not get in then it's their loss not ours, ha! :)

I've reported three sellers to ebay this morning for trying to hawk these FREE FOR FANS tickets, and all three seem to have been removed. I reported that the conditions of the draw were that the tickets are non-transferable and must not be sold on. Let's hope these people who obviously have no intention of going don't redeem their code, and the extra tickets are released back to FANS!

Well done!! Let's declare war on these greedy people!!:veryangry:

Lol, even if I got tickets from someone who couldn't go, then I wouldn't be able to go - too late notice.

Yep well done - i also reported one last night which seems to have been removed.

These people would sell their own mother if they could get a decent price.

It only takes a few seconds to check for listings and then report those you find. If a few of us continue checking every now and then over the next 24 hours (when the redemption codes expire) then no-one will be able to sell through ebay :)

Exactly. Its simply a case of hitting the report button and explaining why you are reporting the item. It takes two minutes.

Nice post, cheers. :D

Oh well.. until December then!

Just a note to those that didn't win, it says on the email that you have 48 hours from 9am Tues to claim the tickets via Ticketmaster. So maybe unclaimed ones will be redrawn tomorrow. You never know.

I am still waiting for Ticketmaster to email me the actual tickets. I am getting a bit worried even though the cheerful man on their helpdesk assures me that they are going to email them to me but they're having a few problems with their system! So close...

I am hopeful, that they will redraw some unclaimed tickets tomorrow. For the NY Show it says: "If you can't make it, email or call us. We'll find some other fan who will go in your place."

So maybe indeed everythings's not lost. :)

Still congratulations to all the winners here!

Pair of tickets just sold on ebay for £50:veryangry2:

It looks like ebay are dealing with it - the listing's been deleted from the 'completed listings' section. It's either a cover up by ebay or the seller will be in some trouble now :)

NOOOOOOOOOO! don't give us hope!!

The last thing we need is MORE disappointment!

I just got an e-mail from Coldplay!!!

Stupid newsletter :P

Thehitcher, can you tell me what your ticket number is? i was allocated 99 and 100.
