I agree, Roy may not have been doing a great job but hes got you out of the danger zone, which considering how bad things were a few months ago is good news for you guys, I don't think Liverpool should take Rafa back either.

I'm getting pissed off as the whole thing has been dragging on since the weekend.

Inter Milan sack manager Benitez

 

Inter Milan have confirmed that they have parted company with manager Rafael Benitez just over six months after appointing the Spaniard.

 

The move follows Benitez asking for backing from the board to buy players following the Serie A side's Club World Cup win over TP Mazembe last Saturday. Instead, with Inter 13 points behind in the league and struggling for form, they have chosen to sack Benitez.

 

The Spaniard took over at the San Siro from Jose Mourinho in June. Mourinho, who left for Real Madrid, led Inter to the Serie A title, the Italian Cup and the Champions League glory last season and left his successor with a hard act to follow.

 

Benitez took over at the San Siro a week after leaving Liverpool on 3 June and, although he had had injuries to key players to contend with, the 50-year-old's exploits have not helped his cause. Although Inter have two games in hand of the teams above them in the Serie A table, they are languishing in seventh place having won only six of their 15 league games.

 

In defence of their Champions League crown, the Nerazzurri could only finish as group runners-up behind Tottenham to leave them a difficult tie against Bayern Munich in the last 16. Even though Inter won the Club World Cup by beating the Congolese team, it did not leave Benitez in enough of a position or power to survive his outburst after the match. "There are three possibilities for the club," said Benitez. "One, 100% support for the coach and buy four or five players to build a stronger team with competition among the players to be able to carry on winning matches and trophies. Two, carry on like this without a project, without planning, and go ahead with one person to blame, for the whole season. The third," he added, "is to speak to my agent to reach an agreement if there is not this support. Simple."

 

Inter president Massimo Moratti was less than impressed by Benitez's comments and said they were "were not suitable for the situation" before adding it was "not the moment to ask for reinforcements".

 

Consequently, the Inter board have sought to remove Benitez with the Serie A season currently on a winter break and Inter's next game scheduled for 6 January at home to Napoli.

Well that's that over. It is now time for Rafa to re evaluate his management. It's a bizarre climbdown from being one of the top coaches in world football to getting sacked from two very famous clubs in the space of 6 months. He's become too stubborn for his own good and it has damaged him badly.

Famous for his scowls and temper tantrums, Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has been told by boss Roberto Mancini to smile more.

 

Renowned for being super confident the 20 year old also has a miserable demeanour out on the pitch and Mancini would like the Italian to lighten up, starting at Newcastle on Boxing Day. "He must improve in this situation," said Mancini. "You need to smile to play football. That is the best thing you can do."

 

Mancini feels though, Balotelli’s ultra-high confidence should be matched by sparkling performances on the pitch. "It is good when a player has confidence in himself," he said. "Mario Balotelli has everything you need to be one of the best players in the world. But he must improve and he must show it. Only if you play well in every game can you say these things. It depends on him. The Premier League is so different from the Italian league. Mario must understand. If he thinks what he says he must show it in every game."

I'm certain he's better than Rafa:laugh3:, and hope he does well, my main hope is that he gets us high enough to qualify for the CL next year, we have 2 games in hand so if we win them it will reduce the points deficit in Serie A, I don't think Serie A is winnable this season.

I want him to suceed but as he's an ex Rossoneri I'm cautiously distrustful of him.

2009-2010 and he played for them for ages as a player,still it is like playing Milan at thier own game as they always seem to love signing ex Inter players.
