I watched the Barca vs Espanyol game yesterday as I recorded it, Barca really do look unstoppable at the moment.

I was thinking about that^ this morning. I've only started watching La Liga games this season. So, i don't really know a lot. Also, regarding (from what i've read) the political (?) context of the Real vs. Barca, is the rivalry as intense for example with A. MAdrid vs Barca, or Espanyol vs Real? Silly questions, i know. :|

I've always thought the Barca-Real rivalry was the most intense in the Spanish League, I considered it to be on a similar level to the Inter and (AC)Milan rivalry, I don't think the rivalry is nearly as intense with Athletico Madrid and Barca or Espanyol and Real but like you I'm pretty new to watching La Liga myself:).

The derby Atlético de Madrid-Real Madrid and Espanyol-Barcelona aren't, by themselves, as strong as Barça-Madrid, 'cause Barça and Madrid don't care about their local rivals (what makes a derby strong is the mutual feeling of rivalry), but they are extremely important for Atlético and Espanyol.

That's kind of what I thought that both Barca and Real care alot more about El Classico than thier local rivals but for Athletico and Espanyol it would be a huge deal to beat them.

 

In other news I've decided I'm going to make the trip to the San Siro for the next Milan Derby because I've never been to one and it's meant to be a really intense great atmosphere plus if I book flights and a hotel this far in advance thier pretty cheap, I hope the result is different to the last one though:laugh3:.

 

Rumour has it Rafa has been sacked too but I won't believe it until something official is announced.

For fans of Espanyol its really important. Barca fans do get wound up by them...
