Space Cadet
What the hooey happened to Will? :stunned: His work on the new album is sooo good and so radically different from anything he's done before. It's almost as if he's been replaced by a clone. A clone with mad skills. He's always been the perfect guy for the band, always adding and never taking away imho. But all of a sudden he didn't take it up a level, he took it up about 20 all at once. Cemeteries, Lost, 42, Strawberry Swing, and others all have these incredible rhythms. And even the simple rhythms have little technical pauses and flourishes that were never there before. For me, it's really the defining thing that gives the album it's character. I LOVE it. :D

Hotplay007
I totally agree with that. Will is a monster now! He has gone mad at the drums and everything else he plays... it's really really really starting to show in the music. Goodness, he needs to calm down.... rest a little bit. ApproximatelyInfinite
i agree, will TOTALLY amped up everything on this album! and to think he wasn't originally a drummer when he started out with coldplay...my god. if all of their future albums are like this one and IMPROVE on this one percussion-wise, i see will being in one of those "rolling stone's list of the 50 best drummers of all time" in the future :D

I'm usually listening to hear something different rather than a steady rock drum beat and he's gone way beyond with this. It's nice to hear variation in rhythm at least from a band many people would consider mainstream. Favorites from Will on this album are: Cemeteries 42 Strawberry Swing But we all know every song is stellar. :)
MasoKnight
If anybody watched the Jimmy Kimmel skit, you'd see that the real Will has been missing for awhile. They just picked him up, and it's clear on this album that he's back. :D

crazydrummer5
I love what Chris said in what i think might've been the Q interview? Not sure. But anyways he said that Will was the most important part when recording the album because if he's not into it, the song doesn't work. He's got to be into it for anything to move foward. Anyways i can definitely tell that Will's into these songs ha.

But it's not often you get to see an artist completely transform their style, and I think he deserves mega kudos for everything this time around. ;)

Open-Politik
Best thing about the album as a whole is Wills drumming. Not Johnnys guitar or Guys bass, Chris melodies/voice. No, its FCUKINg Will Champion, Champion of this album!!!!!!
felicote
^ yeah, Will Champion should ditch The Other Three and go solo. Or rename the band The Will Champion Experience.
