What Happened to Will?

Featured Replies

^hahahah, yeah 'The Will Champion Experience' sounds brilliant for an album name also. Anyways, WILL ROCKS!!!!!!

WillPower!!!! I always have thought Will's drumming was Amazing, and whether not that was "really" the case according to music/drumming officionados - whatever - but it sure it nice to see him getting the praise he deserves here! YAY WILL!! You ROCK HARD!!!

Im just very glad that the members are starting to take bigger risks in music

He's probably the most incredible musician of the bunch in all honestly.

I agree. I think hes probaly best at what anyone can play, guitar, piano, bass and vocals and I think the rest of the band is extremely jealous!!! Thats why they hate him so much!!!

^haha yeah

he even plays a dobro in that tour diary.

He's really talented.

and the kid can flat out play football

THE WHOLE ALBUM SUX NO MATTER WHO IS PLAYING WHAT OR SINGING WHATEVER:smug:

and naturally the bass on this album is absolutely insane. before this album, fix you was im my opinion the biggest song in terms of a real 'kick' from drums, but that hardly compares to most of the songs in VLVODAAHF

Yeh, standing out on this album for me are the drums and the strings. Will's drumming is class all the way thru, especially Strwberry Swing and Viva.

i see will being in one of those "rolling stone's list of the 50 best drummers of all time" in the future :D

thats a bit extreme. cuz he's not nearly as talented as some great drummers like neil peart and carter beauford etc... but he is very originial. and this is by far his best album yet. awesome drumming throughout

You mean to tell me that there are at least 50 drummers better than Will Cahampion?

yes in terms of flat out ability. in terms of creativity maybe no. but htats probably not what a magazine like rollingstone. that list would be dominated by neil peart, keith moon, ringo even though he's bad and people of that era. thats just the way it is

Will as definately stepped it up this album!!I really love the end bit of Lovers In Japan.

The best drummer in the world. He gave me goosebumps when I was riding in the car on a trip listening to him drum.... man, just absolutely the best.

It was interesting to hear Chris say to Zane Lowe that Will had to improve.

In Cemeteries Of London, are those brushes that Will is using? There seems to be a constant rhythm on the snare with a few accented notes every now and again.

Lost! is the most amazing beat ever. There seems to be a sort of bhangra style percussion underneath the main beat too, which sounds incredible - does anyone know much about Indian percussion to clarify that?

I love the little rolls on the hi-hats in 42.

I also love Chinese Sleep Chant - I love Will's creativity, but I also love his more straightforward beats, there's something reassuring about them, like he's holding it all together.
