Singles?

Featured Replies

Now that we've all heard the album, what songs do you think would be likely singles? There are 2 singles left assuming they stick to the 4 single routine, though a 5th one may be in limited release in some countries.

Right now I'm pretty doubtful that 42 will be released. Lovers in Japan is probably next, and they'll probably release Death and All His Friends afterwards since it's been on Grey Anatomy and such.

So far we know

1. Violet Hill

2. Viva la Vida

3. Lovers In Japan (maybe)

4. ???

lovers in japan is next, it's been confirmed.

i'm thinking that the pickings are lost!, cemetaries of london, or strawberry swing. maybe yes as well. but i'm REALLY hoping for strawberry swing!!

Well I picked Lovers, because we know that

then opted for Cemteries because I love that,

and I went for Lost! - because i just think it'll be a single.

strawberry swing pleaseee

what about vival la vida thats gonna be the next single theres only one offical single people thats violet hill there hasnt been too singles

I would REALLLLLLY like to see Yes!!

lovers in japan - it sounds perfect for summertime Radio 1

I'd also hope for DAAHF (seeing as it was in Greys) and lost! would be great too

I would say Yes cos I love it, but it doesn't have the same commercial potential as the others

ya me too

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..... I PICKED STRAWBERRY SWING, DANDALLHISFRIEND,YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really think Lost! could make a good single. DAAHF maybe as the last one..

I'm glad Lovers in Japan is next, LIJ i my fav song of VLV.

All I know is that i hope it's not Cemeteries...I don't want radio destroying that song for me like they did Clocks. I realize airplay is a band's bread and butter, but I NEVER want to have to say 'I'm so sick of that song' about Cemeteries!!

strawberry swing pleaseee

I KNOW! Please please please. With new b-sides and accoutstics too.

For what its worth:

Violet Hill

Viva La Vida (D/L only)

Lovers In Japan

Lost!

Strawberry Swing

I love all the others but I'm doubtful about Cemeteries, 42 and Yes as I think they work best in the context of the album itself.

Course I could be soon eating my words.

When I read the first sentance I thought you were absolutely crazy! Then I read the rest and I agree, it's far too good to be destroyed by radio airplay.

Last single wouldn't hurt though... :laugh3:

I think Lost is the most logical choice. Not sure some of the other popular songs, such as 42 and Yes would work that well as singles.
