Sneaking Cameras into Concerts - Ideas?

Featured Replies

So, I have successfully gotten cameras into concerts every time.

Does anyone have any advice, tricks, or tips on getting cameras into the concert?

Thanks

I've never done this but it MUST work! Put your camera (assuming it's a small point and shoot) in a sock and then just before you enter, go into the bathroom and put it in the crotch of your underwear. It's possible you'd need tape. Even a pretty thorough pat down couldn't detect it unless they seriously violate you. THen when you get in, go into the bathroom and retrieve the goods!

haha, well you might not have to go THAT far...

i say point and shoot in a compact black case near the bottom of your bag should do it. i've only done it once, but it was fine. it helps if the inside of your bag is black as well as the case, or better yet, put the camera inside that inner zippy pocket most womens purses have. they never look in there.

why not just keep it in you pocket if it's compact? in other gigs i haven't had a problem with putting a camera in my pocket.

the problem with keeping it on your body is metal detectors/wands, which almost every place uses these days, or at least around here they do. its much easier for girls to smuggle them in because of purses, which they rarely thoroughly search.

Yeah, I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to sneak my camera into the Verizon Center... The problem is that I don't know what they security's like there, since I haven't been to a concert there for a while. However, since it's in DC where everyone is ridiculously paranoid, I'm guessing the security is high/thorough :\ . (I was actually roped into a crime scene today where there was a "suspicious package"- They blocked off the whole area that I was in, and of course the box was empty! )

Ok, so we got our camera in tucked under my pregnant daughters belly...

:D

This is what you do. You put on a metal belt. Then you put it in your pocket. I had wanted to smuggle in my studded bracelet into a Dir En Grey concert so I decided to tie it around my belt so once security checked it, all they got was a belt. Purses are perfect for smuggling cameras, I agree with that.

^LOL :D

what i do is take a messenger bag, cut a hole in the inner-lining of the bag, and hide the camera in-between the fabric and the lining (behold, a secret compartment!). then i put feminine pads and tampons into the bag to hide the area where the lining was cut.

worked for me so far. but now i'm not sure how the security for LA will be; if they use metal-detector rods, i'm screwed. :\

ok ok ok here's what you do....

put the camera into a condom, tie the end of the condom up, swallow the condom

get into the gig. go for a poop. unravel the condom

TA-DA! :bulb:

filming a show is so stupid!!! .. believe me!!

u don't enjoy the moment that the band performs LIVE and u r not in ecstasy ....

enjoy the show man!

Haha! People ARE coming up with some pretty desperate ideas...

Maybe they'll just look inside your bag instead of really searching it, at all of the Smithsonian museums they just poke the interior of your bag with a wooden stick... Makes you feel really safe. But for our sakes lets hope that's all they do!

And I'd say bags are the safest bet.. They make you take them off if there's a walk-through metal detector, and the won't have x-ray machines, so...

So the best ideas are putting it in my bra or in my purse... this is going to be difficult :uhoh:

Basically, if you are a guy, take a girl with you and have her smuggle it in for you. (unless you are a crossdressing guy, and it that case, you MAY have other issues...) :gorgeous:

if you've got a good enough phone, use that. they can't stop you taking a mobile phone into the gig with you. that's what i'll be doing, erm... shit... won't be doing :wink3:

Yeah Mary but what about us gals with a b cup or under, lol. Ain't gonna work for me.

Empty hard pack of smokes can hand a compact camera quite nicely

take the wrapper thing from a pad and wrap your camera in it...and have other pads surrounding it in your purse...chances are whoever searches your purse won't want to touch it...guy or girl.

I read that in a magazine..haven't tried it.

I always have snuck mine in, in my bra ;)

Is there room??:stunned:

wtf... you guys saying you cant take a digital camera into the concert with you?

thats bs (never been to a concert before thou)

my freind went to see them a few years back and took his and all the videos/pics of the concerts show hundreds of ppl with them so wtf? :O!!

if i cant take mine i will cry :p

^ no you definitely cant bring one in. its got nothing to do with taking pictures, its got to do with it being a bomb or something retarded like that.

believe me, i was just at a football/soccer game a few weeks ago in east rutherford, and i tried to bring the digital camera in, and they wouldnt let me - i had to go a quarter of a mile back to the car

i was going to try to go to the hartford concert...didnt work out. so im apart of the unfortunate many who won't be worrying about these things.

omfg that sucks so bad :( i wanna take pics to cherish the memories! missed there concerts every time they sold the tickets and this year managed to buy them and cried from pure excitement :P

In Germany they're much more sensible about this. As long as you don't have "professional" equipment they don't have a problem with it as long as you don't stand there videoing the entire show.
