Please God, for all I hope and pray, please let me win a pair of those tickets. It would, quite frankly, MAKE THAT DAY THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. My first Coldplay concert... :smug:

ok so how many people do you think entered? at first i thought we all had a decent shot at this since i figured only people in the NY area would apply... but it looks as though people are applying from all over. so any idea how many total? basically im trying to figure out if i'm getting my hopes up or not :\

i'm thinking LOTS applied. like 300, maybe more. i bet lots of those people just signed up to the board in the past two days and sent in a PM. while lots of those people might have very good reasons...i'm thinking that coldplaying seniority might play a role in here. might be small, might be large, but really...ian "knows" who we are, so i think that miiiiiight help things a tiny bit. i'm not letting that get my hopes up too high (or i'm trying not to), but if i were ian, i'd be wading through the hundreds of applicants, but my interest would really perk when a good reason was paired with a username and person i recognized.

i also think that something like an MSG might be pulled...like only people in the tri-state area or other nearby states will be selected (besides angie, who's the longest coldplayer i've seen enter out of all of us ;)). i think ian has more sense than whatever computer selected the MSG winners though: i bet the computer that selected the MSG winners was only allowed to select certain zip codes for winners, whereas ian is picking based on things we actually WRITE as well as a more general sense of location (and perhaps how well he knows us?).

all i know for sure is that i'm wetting myself, here.

hahaha well i hope your right. i wouldn't say that seniority gives me much of an advantage since im slightly still a noob... but hopefully since he knows i'm a legit everyday poster my entry will at least be read instead of thrown in the trash immediately :P just kidding... i KNOW ian will read all of them no matter what.

I hope people that can actually attend applied and not just gosh I want to go be there is no way in hell I actually can make it there. I know Ian has to submit the names to NBC and I would hate to see tickets go to waste.

I'm sitting here in Iowa right now, but I'll be on a plane tomorrow at 3 o'clock PM

exactly. i hope ian's decisions are slightly swayed by the people he knows (or could find out) that would be going anyway, like me and you and yammy etc etc, so the tickets wouldn't go to waste.

question: if ian has to submit the names to NBC, what happens if some generous coldplayer decides to give out their tickets that they won, but can't use?

^^ SAME!!!! i was thinking the same thing. if i win i know that i will be able to go 100%. and thats how it was for MSG too. and then i remember reading on here about people who were like oh no i dont know how im gunna get there. ok whyd you apply then. gahhh i just want to win :bomb:

On the official board I would always enter contests and Debs would PM and tell me I wasn't able to enter because who's going to spend money to travel to England just for some show? :veryangry: She don't know me. She has no earthly idea what I will do. I suspect Ian is far more aware of my insanity and knows I will travel there in a heart beat. :laugh3:

@ tim: i know, that frustrates me too, but if coldplay were doing this in say, philly, which is really out of my way, i'd apply and figure out the details of getting there if i won. i can't really blame the people that do that, but it just gets frustrating for people that LIVE IN THE AREA and have no problem getting there.

i'll be there either way, VIP passes or not, but...GAHH.

@ angie: that is annoying. you shouldn't be barred from entry, no matter what! but at the same time...not many people are as devoted as you to fly to these places if they win! but us here, we all know you and know that you'd do ANYTHING to get ANYWHERE to see these boys, ian most of all :D

I have a confirmed flight and hotel, wanna see my receipt? :P You know this is kinda how I met Mary(breakfast_of_champion). We would always chat on line on the old old official board and one day she was like I wish we could see a show together. We checked the tour schedule and planned on Cleveland because it was a GA show and we didn't have to worry about getting seats next to each other. We ended up getting people from all over the US to join us and we had the best time ever. OK mostly because I grabbed Jonny's ass. :sneaky:

things like that always turn out to be the best (erm. not grabbing jonny's bum) but especially going out of your way to a place you'd never visit otherwise, just to see someone (or someone's said bum)

bunches of luck to you guys. and more to jonny still, as it sounds like he might need it *grins*

M.

Its a groundhog :smug:
well it better stop eyeballing me and watch out for tornadoes and flood waters!

That's lower down in Iowa, we don't get that up here. No, literally, I can ride in a car for less than a half-hour and be in Minnesota.
