I am a brand new fan of today! Bought the new album right away after hearing VioletHill! LOVE this band!

 

I am usually a fan of older artists, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney, The Wallflowers are my favorite "newish" band, and now Coldplay! Looking forward to posting here and learning more about them! And, I need 3 more cds!

Hi Amanda, welcome to the forum, new to this myself.

 

I've been a fan of Coldplay's earlier work but nothing compared to the appreciation I have for their current album. I can't fault anything on there (well maybe just minor things) and It's hitting the spot pretty well at the moment. Had it on replay everyday since my better half bought me it the other week. (talking of which, he's feeling a bit left out, will have to sort that) Now that you've got the album, is Violet Hill still pretty up there, or has another taken your fancy more?

It is certainly on replay a lot today! I think Violet is still my favorite, although all of the songs are great! I just don't like the first track thing.....:stunned:

 

Oh my gosh!! I am so excited!! Coldplay is coming here in November and I am going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! Can't believe this!!

first of all welcome to the board! i'm Elif.i have a lot of favourite songs actually, but i can say lost is a great song

It kinda changes, I was first gripped by Viva la Vida but having listened to the album umpteen times others have grabbed my soul, heart and imagination all at once. "Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love" stands pretty solidly in my top 3. What I love the most about this album is like any fine art work, the more you look the more you discover. Sorry I know I just over stepped the mark and am now in the land of the nerd. But it gets me, ya know? :D

Hello Violet_Hill! Glad you could join our troupe of global merrymakers!:) Coldplay offers quite a variety, so there's always something new to delve into, and I do agree with Funky-Bubble-Brains that the more you listen, the more beauty unfolds in each song, as the subtle nuances and hidden meanings become more apparent..
