ailene90
Back in May I bought a ticket to their show in Hartford CT but I was so excited and in such a rush to get a good spot that I accidently bought 1 ticket so...now it seems I'm gonna be going solo. This will be my first time seeing them live and I'm a little worried I won't enjoy it as much alone. Anyone ever been to one of their shows alone and had it effect the experience? No matter what I'm sure I'll have a great time but I'm just wondering. EDIT: So the concert in my state was tonight (August 2)...and looking back, I really feel silly that I even worried about something stupid like going alone. I had a blast! With the huge crowd and all the excitement, I didn't even feel alone once. It was great to be in a room with thousands of other Coldplay fans that love them like you do. :D
ernestime
I just went to 2 Coldplay concert's this week .. Solo, you'll have a great time still [depending on the type of personality u have] :)
girl_in_the_band_tshirt
Most of my friends don't share my taste in music at all, so I tend to go to shows alone always. I really like it actually.. you don't have to worry about pleasing anyone else (or embarassing anyone else) :nice: And chances are good that you'll make fast friends with other people around you, that you might not have ever spoken to had you been with your friends. Hope you have fun!
*Coldplay Lover*
I'm going alone to this one [see signature] I'm def ready to ROCK OUT!!!! WOOO! lmao
englishrose
I haven't seen Coldplay yet (I will be and I'd rather go alone...my mum insists on coming however...), but I've been to a concert my myself. It was fine, although the atmosphere wasn't very communal. However, it meant I could just sat back and enjoyed the music without worrying about looking stupid. Jenjie
Pop into the Hartford thread and say hi. If there's one thing I've discovered about the guys on this board, they're all mad but they do enjoy a meet-up :D
ccsg
My first CP concert I went alone. I had tix for second night with my husband, but couldn't stand not to see them both nights, so I got a ticket on the side of the stage for the first night. Was an awesome show and had a blast alone. You'll have a great time. You'll be seeing Coldplay!!!!
Montreal
I have never been to a concert alone! Coldplay it is heavy soft rock music so I prefer being with my gf!

xneverwherex
I was supposed to meet up with a group of friends during their last tour. But Nissan pavillion is a bitch to get to, and we all drove separately. We all had pit tix so I made sure to get in the very front. My friends got caught in bad traffic. One friend didnt make the show and another friend got there later and was somewhere in the middle of the pit. I had a great time, and it was amazing to see how many people were there to see rilo kiley. met all sorts of people around me and we all danced and had fun. i was so close to the band that the whole thing was surreal. i go to a good chunk of concerts alone and meet all sorts of people. often times its the photographers that are in the front (for the smaller NYC shows) - so Ive met a lot of very interesting people. :) Sometimes I prefer going alone - you never know who youre going to meet. My favorite bands are the Australian bands to see alone. The Aussies seem to be some of the most friendly people I've ever met.
StephBerryman
Most of my friends liked Coldplay until Clocks and The Scientist got really, really popular. Now they think it's too mainstream and popular; therefore, they must not like the band. God, i hate when people think like that. Great thing about Coldplay is that the fans are so nice that sometimes it doesn't feel like you're alone at the concerts.
airieslady
I have gone to many concerts alone and met some great people! I find the best tickets when it's for one only. Went to two CP shows alone... just talk to people around you and it's like one big party anyway. Especially when everyone is singing along. You will have a great time! :)
ccsg
So does that mean you're now divorced??:P LOL, funny you should ask because my husband went to all kinds of trouble to get me the tickets for the second night and then when i announced I would be going alone the first, he wasn't the happiest. I think that was the beginning of his semi-understanding of how much I love the band.
Texasluvsjonny
I wish, but unfortunately there are always several thousand other people there. Can't Jonny and I just be left alone! :bigcry:
nathey42
I went to the Brixton gig the other week on my own, I didn't win tickets but was able to pick one up when they were released a few days before through ticketmaster. I had seats upstairs and was a bit worried about going on my own, but as soon as I got in there I started talking to a great girl from Singapore who was also on her own and we kept each other company for the rest of the evening. Don't worry, If you're sitting then it will be quite easy to strike up a conversation with people as you know that you have at least one thing in common. Anyway us Coldplay fans are all generally quite accepting. The worst part I suppose will be queueing on your own...

Stefan8
I've never been to a Coldplay concert before, but I'm going three times in October  For the concert on the 2nd a friend will join me, on the 4th two friends, but I've got one ticket left for the 3rd. But I'll probably get someone to accompany me, so I don't have to go alone :P
talkingonsquareone89
I haven't been to concerts by myself yet, and although I think it would be nice (since I don't really mind doing things alone), it's always nice to share the moment with a good friend too. The only uncertainty that would make me kind of nervous is who I'll be sitting next to if I go alone. Some people are really chill and cool during concerts. Others are...
Stephie
I go to most concerts on my own (not only Coldplay). And I'm also one of those who actually doesn't mind and I sometimes find it strange that other people would rather not go at all than alone. When I still lived in Germany, all of my close friends had a different taste in music, so I wouldn't go with them. However, at nearly all Coldplay concerts I met with people who I knew from a messageboard before, or sometimes I just got to know people there with which I sticked. Coldplay fans are a nice bunch of people, so that's mostly no problem. I never felt alone. :D
Fixed
I saw them in Manchester, December 2005, by myself and it was one of the best nights of my life. Doesn't matter if you go with someone else or if you're on your own, once they come on stage you get totally lost in the music and the experience of being there. heyyyohhh
Coldplay in October is going to be my first time seeing a big band alone. Other concerts I've attended I went with at least one other person. But I've already been to IZOD Center (when it was still Continental Airlines Arena) alone to watch Stars On Ice and the fact that I was alone didn't bother me one bit. I wasn't going to miss an opportunity to see some of my favorite Olympic champions just because noone else was interested in going with me! So I'm pretty sure when I see Coldplay in October I will be just fine. I don't mind doing things alone anyway, so it doesn't bother me lol :)
Listen2Coldplay
No, not yet. I've been to plenty of shows by myself though. Sigur Ros, The Flaming Lips (back to back nights) Collective Soul, John Butler Trio. I did plan on going to see Coldplay by myself in Cleveland on their last winter tour in the U.S., but for whatever reason, my mom didn't want me to go. If I did go to a Coldplay show by myself, it would be this tour. I hope you are not worried--there's nothing to worry about. You are all there, I presume, because you have a common interest. So, that is at least one thing to talk about.
