I did discover that August 13th is International Left-Handers Day :)

hehe I can barely write with my right hand so if I want to excercise my brain I solve some sudokus or math problems... hehe I have tried writing with left and the result was one of the most horrible things I've seen in my life

Just because it's in the dictionary, doesn't mean it's not rude!!!

 

In fact, when I moved in to 6 Form, my German teacher told us we all had to buy BIG German/English dictionaries... and he said the way to tell a really good dictionary is if it has a lot of swear words.

 

The more swear words = the better the dictionary!!!

The Bigger the dictionary = the better the dictionary

We keeping posting at the same time - this is confusing!!!

 

Anyway, we can't have favourite pupils, but I don't see the harm in a favourite group. My favourite group is 8 set 1 - I constantly tell them that they rock and it makes them work even harder.

 

I teach French & German to kids at an 11-16 school. My tutor group will be in Year 9 in September

oh wow, that's so cool.

though I hated german and I couldn't do french.

 

When I was in year 11, we went on a trip to germany with my german class and a class form year 10.

we went to Koln, and and Aachan.

it was in december too, so it was all snowy, it was immense!

you should take some kids there. I enjoyed it.

 

but I was one of those students who used to occasionally slip and englsih word in when I was speaking, like, I went to mcdonalds, did the whole "ich moche einen bigmac" thing, then I was like, "can I have a bag please?" took me 20 minutes to describe with my hands what I wanted, it was like playing pictionary with a retard.

I dropped French after year 8. In year 9 I was in the 'dumb-dumb' group (by choice) and I didn't pick up a language GCSE in year 10 (instead going for 'study skills' which was basically time you used to do homework/coursework/mess around)

Man, it's bizarre how much we (sort-of) have in common...

I'm from the South yet my parents are Geordies - you live in Sunderland!!

When I was at school, our German exchange went to ... Aachen!!!

I lived in Dortmund for my year abroad which is just up the road from ... Koln !!!! (I had some great nights out there!)
