Being left-handed, I always notice when other people are - including seeing people on tv and stuff.

My handwriting is awful - I blame it on being left-handed.

 

It's my excuse for a lot of things: poor sense of direction, not being able to follow instructions, I blame it all on the hand.

 

We're aparently supposed to be more creative and artistic. I think I'm a fairly creative thinker, but I can't draw/paint/design to save my life

All that stuff about leftys being more creative, etc is bull****. your creativity and artistic abilities are based on your upbringing and genetic abilities. Its ridiculous to think a lefty is that different from a righty.

Its all relative to all your genes and which traits you inherit form which parents. Lefty or righty a little and especially things like artistic abilities are inherited. But also they are learned. If you are taught in a certain way you will be different than another person.

 

For example, although Im ambidextrous, Im mostly naturally lefty. So it was always natural for me to want to play guitar lefty. But since I had only righty guitars available, I taught myself that way. Now playing lefty feels wrong and Im good playing righty.

I'm afraid I have to agree.

I'm right handed and hoping to go into a creative career....always been the artist of the family.

My brother is a leftie, and is useless at art and creative stuff. :lol: He makes up for it by being better at maths and stuff though.

I was told by another teacher at school that I'm a poor swimmer because I'm left-handed!

I write with my right hand but I play the guitar (Air-guitaring really, 'cause I don't own a guitar :D) with my left hand as well as I open bottles and such with it.

 

Strangely though, for the past couple of years I wanted to see if I can develop my skill in writing using my left hand and so I tried practicing it whenever I'm bored or anything and I'm getting good at it. I'm still slow though... but I can get there! hehe I don't know what use could come from it really!

ambidextrous me. I write both ways, I use the computer mouse lefty, use a knife and fork lefty, pour lefty, and other stuff it depends on which hand gets there first!!!

ambidextrous. i write with my right, and i guess i tend to use the right hand more to take things from other people or shelves or something, but pretty much everything else i do with my left hand. well, besides scissors.

 

i used to be able to write flawlessly with my left hand too, but i stopped doing it so much, so now when i try it looks like a 5-year-old's hand writing. maybe i should practice more :P

 

and i've noticed that i've somehow switched to eating mostly with my fork in my right hand, when that never used to be the case before. weird.

Apparently, left-handed people are usually better at multi-tasking than right-handed people!

 

I have always considered myself a good multi-tasker, but I thought it was a girl-thing.
